Along the way, Edo-period wooden townhouses reveal the charm of old Kyoto.

We went on the tour of Kyoto with Thea. Our group was around 10 people and lasted.for about 2.5 hours. What a great way to get to see and understand the history of Kyoto. Both my 9 & 12 year old loved the tour as well, even more than the kitsunge workshop that we took earlier today. Thea was great in how she gave the group time to take photos, pray at different shrines if we wanted to, and helped capture nice family photos. Tip: Book a time about an hour before sunset so you can see some of the temples in daylight but also see Gion at night with lanterns.
This tour today was truly excellent value for money. Wajid is a fantastic guide who shared so much history about geishas and Gion. We took many great photos, and we would never have known this historical background if we had visited on our own. Thank you, Wajid, for your detailed explanations and for taking care of us throughout the trip. I highly recommend this tour! Had an amazing experience on this tour today! Wajid is a fantastic guide who shared wonderful insights about the geishas and Gion's history. We took beautiful photos and learned so much we would have missed on our own. We loved every minute of the tour! Our guide Valeria is the absolute best - her knowledge is beyond! We did the tour at night so we had most of the neighbourhoods to ourselves. Thank you for sharing the history of Kyoto and some gems along the way with us! Okini!!
Our guide Ken was very informative and patient. We even had a chance to see a Maiko walking down the street! Booking a late afternoon/evening tour is better esuon hot/sunny days. Thanks for the interesting history of Kyoto. it truly is beautiful city! I wish we spent more time here to explore.
Don't hesitate to come and discover Gion. For me, it was a wonderful introduction to exploring Kyoto, and I have absolutely no regrets! The guide was very friendly, and time flew by; it was great.
amazing your in the night lights which it makes magic, nice experience to know the story of the geishas and to roaming around of the area of Kyoto old neighborhood, discovering pontocho and its delicious restaurants and vibrant atmosphere. specially in this season with cherries blossoms all over the city which color the area and give some romantic touch . good experienced and well prepared on all the events and excellent stories teller Wajad , the tour guide who explained accurately every single aspect of the area and the people leave in Gion . very pleased to have a such prepared guide
This was the highlight of our entire trip. We’re still talking about it two weeks on! Luis was a fantastic guide - he was patient, insightful and full of local knowledge. Walking through Gion’s streets and learning about geishas and their training was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. I’d go every night if I could! I’d absolutely recommend booking an evening slot - we booked 7pm. This meant the area was quieter and we could stop and take it all in without the chaos and crowds of the daytime. Cherry blossom season made it extra memorable for us! We went back and retraced our steps a few nights later ourselves. Such a great tour - absolutely book it! We’ll be back.
This was one of the best tours I’ve been on. Nao was so amazing, knowledgeable and fun!! The sites were spectacular and his knowledge about the places and the culture was unreal. We were lucky enough to see 3 Geisha’s on our tour. Thanks Nao from the Australian girls
Had a great sunset tour with our guide, Logan, who is very informative about the Gion district and the history and happenings of a Geisha's life. No questions were left unanswered. Thoroughly enjoyed it, just wished it was warmer.
Very interesting visit. Despite my English not being excellent, I understood the explanations from our guide, Logan. Gion is a very beautiful place. I was delighted to learn so much about geishas.
