    At the top of our list is Malaysia's very own National Zoo! Officially opened in November 1963, Zoo Negara is home to over 400 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish. The open concept zoo covers 110 acres of land and is dedicated to conservation, recreation, education, and research of a wide variety of animal and plant species including endangered and exotic species such as orangutans, Malayan Tigers, tapirs, and more.     Located in Taiping, Perak, the Taiping Zoo was built in 1961, making it one of the oldest zoos in the country and also one of our personal favourites! This zoological park covers over 36 acres and is home to about 180 species of animals, with over 1300 of these furry friends waiting to meet you. Our favourite part would definitely be their night safari - as the sun goes down, hop onto a tram that would bring you on a tour that gives you a different look at the animal world as you observe nocturnal animals in their natural habitats.

The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park is spans across 280 acres of land and is dedicated to offer the best of 2 components - zoological and botanical. Among the inhabitants that call this zoo their home are the Proboscis monkeys, Borneo Pygmy elephants, Malayan tigers and more. While here, visitors can also take the opportunity to go on a leisurely stroll or jungle trek along the park's 1.4km stretch of paved botanical trails.

    When in the city of JB, don't miss out on the Johor Zoo! Built in 1928, this zoo is the oldest in Malaysia and is said to even be one of the oldest in Asia. Spend some time with your loved ones here as you meet over 100 different species of animals, which include Indo-Chinese tigers, elephants, hippos, and our favourite one of all, the friendly camels. For some extra fun, go boat paddling on the zoo's mini lake or take some up-close pictures with the furry friends here.     Although not exactly a zoo, Langkawi's very own Crocodile Adventureland is one we couldn't leave out of this list! The crocodile farm is located in the Teluk Datai Bay area at the northwestern end of the island and spread across 20 acres of land. Here, you can get up-close and personal with one of the largest collections of Malaysian saltwater crocodiles of various different species and sizes here! The farm is well-maintained and promises a fun, educational visit - visitors can even hand-feed young crocodiles and watch them perform stunts.
