What to expect
Lok Kawi Wldlife Park, opened on February 17, 2007 by the Sabah Wildlife Department, is a family-friendly attraction near Penampang-Papar Road.
It includes Zoological Area with Borneo Pygmy elephants, Proboscis monkeys, Malaya tigers, and various deer species, as well as a Botanical Area featuring a 1.4-kilometer jungle trail.
The Children’s Zoo is a highlight for younger visitors. Combining wildlife encounters and nature experiences, the park is perfect for all ages.

- Animal Shows: No Animal Show every Friday
- Natural Shots: To capture animals without visible encloses, adjust your shooting angle and composition, animals may stay in shaded areas during hot weather
- Best time to Visit: Arrive early around 9:30 AM, animals are more active, and temperatures are coller, making your visit more comfortable

really lovely afternoon tour. Our guide Mr Jeff was very helpful and friendly and had great information to share. it was fantastic to see sun bears, hornbills, orangutan, clouded leopard, Malaysian tiger, pigmy elephants and proboscis monkey. very relaxing.

We had a lovely no-hassle afternoon checking out the sights at the park. Our tour guide, Mr Handsom Jeff picked us from our hotel on time and was a great host. Highlights were the show and the Otter feeding and the beautiful grounds.
The orangutan we were hoping to see was asleep, but seeing animals native to Borneo made it a very worthwhile visit. The guide was extremely kind and informative.
Our tour guide, Tommy, was excellent! We saw rare orangutans and adorable yet majestic proboscis monkeys.
