Sensoji Temple

Located in Asakusa district, Tokyo, Sensoji Temple, also known as Asakusa Kannon Temple, is Tokyo's oldest temple and a sacred spot across Japan, drawing more than 30 million visitors each year. According to legend, over 1,400 years ago during the Edo period, two brothers discovered a statue of Kannon, the Buddhist goddess of mercy, while fishing in the Sumida River. No matter how many times they returned the statue to the water, it kept coming back to them. That's why Sensoji Temple was built nearby in 645, making it the oldest temple in Tokyo and a Shinto shrine dedicated to Kannon. Throughout the year, the temple grounds host exciting events like the Sanja Matsuri festival in May, the Asakusa Samba Carnival in August, and the traditional Hagoita Market, where decorative paddles are sold for a fun game called hanetsuki. Very relaxing and calm experience. There is a lot of things to do the at the onsen place 5 hours isn’t enough all of the activities there. The water hot springs is not too hot or cold when dip in. Everyone there has their own thing that you won’t feel concious.

Spa LaQua was exactly what I needed after spending several days walking around Tokyo. The facilities were very clean, spacious, and well maintained, with a great variety of baths and areas to relax. I especially enjoyed being able to soak in the hot springs and completely unwind without having to leave central Tokyo. Everything felt organized and comfortable, and I never felt rushed. It’s easy to spend several hours here without realizing how much time has passed. Great value for the experience, and I’d happily come back on my next trip to Tokyo.

A Tokyo Trip Highlight for Our Family! 🍣✨ Booking the Sushi Making Tokyo Roll and Authentic Japanese Sushi Class via Klook was completely seamless and easily one of the best highlights of our Tokyo vacation last July! I booked this for my husband, our 9-year-old daughter, and myself. Seeing our little girl fully immerse herself in the experience touched our hearts—she was focused, hands-on, and so proud of her creations. The instructors were incredibly sweet, professional, and engaging with everyone. We also loved connecting with other wonderful families from around the world. We learned so much about authentic sushi techniques, and we left with great memories, big smiles, and VERY full bellies! Highly recommended for families visiting Tokyo. Thank you Klook for making the booking process so smooth and hassle-free!

A fun activity on a rainy evening! We made maki and nigiri, toasted sake, and ate our handmade sushi. Our hosts, Riku and Sora, made the evening fun. Met some nice people, had a few laughs. We whisked our own matcha to finish off the meal. Recommend if you are looking for an indoor activity and a meal.

I had booked this cooking class for my boyfriend and myself and we were with another group. The initial quiz was really fun and I learned quite a lot. The cooking class was fantastic. We were able to make our own temari and maki and add the toppings of our choice. The explanations were clear and the instructor was very kind. I highly recommend this activity. It was quite complicated to find the entrance but we finally figure it out : they are two S-Plaza buildings. Make sure to go to S-Plaza ll that is located on the right of the Family Mart and take the elevator to the 3rd floor.

So glad I booked this ramen-making experience on the last day of my trip! It was fun, interactive, and the instructor was super friendly. She showed me how to make the broth from scratch and even typed the sauces I needed into my phone so I could go shopping afterwards and make ramen at home. The location was great too, with an amazing view of the Godzilla Head! Definitely recommend! instructor: my instructor was great and I met the second instructor too and she was friendly.

What to know before visiting Tokyo

Quick city snapshot and what draws visitors to Tokyo

Tokyo’s Klook bookings are led by observation decks, museums and theme parks, with cultural experiences and tours also popular. Demand peaks in November and dips around June, so the city’s visitor rhythm swings between lively late-autumn crowds and much quieter early summer months.

When to visit for crowds and prices

According to Klook booking data, November is the busiest month while June is the quietest. Prices drift modestly through the year: activity prices are typically highest in July and reach their Klook-observed low point in April, with a roughly 19% gap between those months. If you want smaller crowds and lower-cost experiences, aim for June or April; if you want peak-season atmosphere and the busiest scene, visit in November. Overall, demand and prices don’t move in perfect sync here — the busiest month (November) is not the most expensive (July), so you can sometimes catch lively crowds without paying July peak prices.

Tips for travellers from Hong Kong

Most travellers from Hong Kong tend to book about eight days before their Tokyo activities, with last-minute bookings possible around two days out and earlier planning useful up to about 15 days. For shorter, flexible trips you can often book a couple of days ahead, but if you travel in November consider locking in key experiences a week or more beforehand. Use Klook to compare availability across observation decks, museums and theme parks to secure the time slots you want.
