It is very close to the airport, which is very convenient for catching early morning flights! The environment is clean and the shared kitchen has quite a few utensils you can use! The only drawback is that the room, maybe because of the carpet, had a strange odor...

After hours spent in the sky, it was wonderful to settle into a spacious, comfortable room that felt instantly relaxing. The complimentary shuttle from the airport—arranged with just a quick phone call—made arriving stress-free and easy.
The hotel has a cozy atmosphere with modern touches, and its location near Spitfire Square adds to the charm. I especially appreciated the considerate checkout time at 11 a.m., which gave me a gentle, unhurried start to the day.

Molly was super helpful in getting me an early check-in and also providing a room upgrade with a view to the airport from the 3rd Floor. Thank you Molly. The dinner was also extremely pleasant, with the host and service team delivering scrumptious delicacies by sporting a pleasant smile. As a solo travel, and a massive introvert, they also got me seated at a two cover table, which overlooked the bridge near the airport.

We had a wonderful stay at Distinction Christchurch Hotel. The room was spacious, cozy, and very comfortable. The location was excellent, making it easy to explore the city. We did have a small issue with the Wi-Fi and room phone not working initially, but the staff responded promptly and resolved it for us. Overall, it was a great stay, and we’d happily recommend this hotel.

The whale watching activity was canceled due to bad weather, but the tour guide seemed inexperienced and unable to arrange and execute a backup plan in a timely manner. When we stopped along the way, they also didn't announce the meeting time. Luckily, the group members were quite good and didn't cause any delays. The guide did provide some brief commentary along the way, and there was someone in our group who didn't understand Chinese, but the guide hardly used English to accommodate them.

We had a wonderful private tour to Akaroa and the alpaca farm from Christchurch. Although it was more pricey, the private tour was absolutely worth it.
The highlight of the trip was definitely the alpaca farm. We had plenty of time to feed, pat, and take photos with the alpacas, and we also learned a lot about these gentle animals from the informative session.
Our driver & guide Zhen was friendly, helpful, and incredibly patient throughout the day. We especially appreciated how safely and smoothly he navigated the winding hill roads to the alpaca farm, which made the journey comfortable and enjoyable.
The tour was well organised and relaxed, giving us enough time to enjoy each stop without feeling rushed. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Christchurch and looking for a memorable day out.
