To avoid any issues, the best thing to do is purchase your entrance ticket to the Toshogu Shrine, a World Heritage Site since 1999, in advance. Nearby, you also have the Futarasan Shrine and Rinnoji Temple, where you can witness the fire ceremony if you wish, which is very unique and interesting.

This was a well organized, fun and easy day tour. There were 37 participants on the bus, but it didn’t feel hectic at all. The pace was perfect. We arrived a little late for the peak leaf season, which would be in early November. Had a good time nonetheless. Plenty affordable options to choose from for lunch at the waterfall park.

"I had a wonderful time on the Nikko day trip today! The scenery was breathtaking and the itinerary was well-organized, but what truly made this experience 5-stars was the exceptional service from our guide/driver, Jeffrey.
I accidentally left my power bank and AirPods on the bus when I departed at Shinjuku. I was so worried, but I managed to call Jeffrey and he was incredibly helpful. Even though his shift was likely ending, he kept my belongings safe and coordinated with me to meet at Tokyo Station since I had already gotten off. He waited for me there to ensure I got my items back safely.
It’s rare to find someone so honest and willing to go the extra mile for a guest. Jeffrey truly saved my day! I highly recommend this tour—not just for the beautiful sights of Nikko, but for the peace of mind knowing you are in such kind and professional hands. Thank you so much, Jeffrey!"

The Nikko one-day tour itinerary is very well-planned and classic, especially suitable for first-time visitors to Nikko who want to see the highlights in one day. Here are some travel tips for this itinerary:
This is a tour that "perfectly combines natural beauty and cultural heritage." Departing from Tokyo Station in the morning, it is recommended to be on time, as Nikko's attractions are spread out and admission times end early. The first stop is Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Falls, where you can experience the serenity and grandeur unique to Okunikko, especially the powerful feeling of Kegon Falls, which is definitely worth the ticket price.
The highlight of the afternoon is Nikko Toshogu Shrine. The architectural details of Toshogu Shrine are extremely intricate and gorgeous. The Yomeimon Gate is also known as the "Twilight Gate," and the Singing Dragon Goshuin is a very memorable souvenir!

Amazing tour with a great guide!
Our guide, Alex, was great and made the whole experience even better. I honestly loved every part of this tour, but the highlight for me was the first stop — Lake Chuzenji. 🥹
It’s the highest volcanic lake in Japan, and the views were absolutely stunning. The mountains surrounding the lake, topped with ice caps, were breathtaking!! and Mt. Nantai looked especially beautiful. 🏔️🩵

I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes Edo period history, and anyone who likes to have a fun, exciting and interesting day out. Bring lots of cash as many of the gift shops and food only take cash. There are free buses from Nikko station. Have the best day!

Perfect package for my 12-yo son and me as we have never ski before! We had Trace and Yuyu as our instructors, who came all the way from Osaka to host our trip to the Fujiyama Yeti Snow Ski resort. Trace has been wonderful in rendering the basic lessons for skiing, complete with safety measures and the necessary equipments that we must have for a good beginner experience. We were blessed with the majestic view of Mount Fuji all day long and had fun skiing and playing in the snow. I would recommend package A for you if you are also a first timer like myself. The cafe also serves vegetarian and seafood/fish meal options. Very easy to order using the machine which accepts cash and/or visa/IC/Pasmo. The facilities at Yeti were complete with comfortable changing rooms, toilets, lockers (there is a coin exchange machine on-site if you need 100 yen coins) as the lockers only take coins payment. Overall, a memorable experience for ski, snow, and Mount Fuji.

In a word, this tour exceeded expectations. As a solo traveler, I was hesitant to rent a car, so I looked for other options and found this day trip. Despite the long distance, I was able to leisurely explore the highlights of Nikko. The final onsen experience was like a gift, perfect for relieving fatigue. I felt that it would have been good to extend the time, even if it meant shortening the time at Kegon Falls. Even though there were Taiwanese, American, and Korean travelers mixed together, the guide took care of each of us in our own languages, making it a completely comfortable trip. I would like to express my gratitude to guide Heo Mi-yeong. I would love to do this kind of trip again.

The bus had nice big windows to see the landscape views. Throughout the tour the tour guides, Jeffery and Ashley, were very attentive. Ashley was able to explain the sites in 3 languages and recommended a great restaurant for lunch. Even though we got lost and delayed our departure time, the tour guides were able to reach us and redirect us to the bus in a timely manner. Shoutout to the bus driver for the smooth ride down the curvy mountain roads 👍
