Booked a lesson at this gym without knowing a single thing about muay thai after watching a muay thai fight live and I can definitely recommend as they cater to your experiences . everyone there is so welcoming and friendly . you will definitely enjoy trying out muay thai here as they do not neglect on the basics and will properly assist you in ensuring that you have the correct form for everything they teach. Will definitely come back for more when I get the chance to!

I had an amazing Muay Thai class with Meg. He was very knowledgeable, kind, and patient, making the whole experience enjoyable and easy to follow even as a beginner. The session was well structured, with clear guidance on technique and form, and he really took the time to correct and support throughout. I left feeling both challenged and motivated. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a great Muay Thai experience!

Deng Zheng, a Mandarin-speaking conservationist, ensured there were no communication issues throughout the entire process, and he taught us a lot about elephants. There are no shows or riding activities at the sanctuary; the elephants live freely after being fully protected. We were able to feed them, bathe with them, and walk alongside them. While other Klook sanctuaries offer elephant dung paper-making, this one does not. However, the conservationist took us on a tour of the sanctuary, introducing us to each elephant and their stories, and we had ample time to interact with them. It's definitely an experience worth trying. Since there are quite a few wild grasses when walking around the sanctuary, it's best to wear light long pants, and it's also a good idea to change clothes after bathing with the elephants. This activity is meaningful and well worth experiencing for both adults and children.👍👍👍👍👍

A super class, run by absolute professionals. The guys couldn’t have been more courteous and blended the class to the mixed experience of the students. They were even able to teach this old dog a few new tricks! Really great workout, nice facilities and good quality kit/gloves/pads, (need to buy hand wraps from reception on arrival - 350 Baht). Clean changing facilities with lockers & toiletries free to use, just bring a towel. Superb value. Thanks guys for a wonderful experience of Muay Thai. I would recommend this gym and the instructors to anyone wanting to try Muay Thai boxing.

I'm back at LAKS in Bangkok to train in Muay Thai again! It's still the same three familiar coaches. Their serious guidance meant there wasn't a dull moment during the hour-plus training session! I'll definitely be back in the future; it's become a must-do activity whenever I visit Bangkok.

What to know before visiting Bangkok

Top Attractions in Bangkok City, Thailand

The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew

When you visit Bangkok, the Grand Palace is a must-see. It’s the city’s most famous landmark, home to Wat Phra Kaew, or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The golden roofs and detailed Thai architecture show Bangkok’s royal history and rich cultural heritage.

Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn)

Across the Chao Phraya River from the Grand Palace, Wat Arun is one of the most beautiful temples in Bangkok. You can climb its tall central tower for amazing city views, especially during sunrise or sunset when the temple glows in the light.

Chatuchak Weekend Market

Shop like a local at Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of Bangkok’s most famous shopping spots. With thousands of stalls, you’ll find clothes, art, plants, and souvenirs. Don’t forget to try the local street food, from mango sticky rice to coconut ice cream.

Khao San Road

For a taste of Bangkok’s nightlife, head to Khao San Road. The street is filled with bars, live music, and food stalls that stay open late. It’s also a nice place to meet other travelers and experience Bangkok’s energetic atmosphere.

Siam Paragon and MBK Center

In Bangkok’s city center, Siam Paragon and MBK Center are two of the largest shopping malls. You’ll find fashion stores, restaurants, and even aquariums inside. It’s the perfect spot to cool off, shop, and enjoy modern Bangkok life.

Tips before visiting Bangkok

1. Stay Connected with an eSIM

Before arriving in Bangkok, set up a Thailand eSIM so you can easily use maps, translation apps, and rideshare services like Grab. You can buy one online before your trip or at Bangkok International Airport. Having internet access makes getting around the Bangkok metropolis much easier.

2. Dress Code at Religious Sites

When visiting Bangkok’s temples, like the Grand Palace or Wat Pho, you must dress modestly. Cover your shoulders and knees, and avoid sleeveless tops or short skirts. Respecting the dress code shows appreciation for Thai culture and local traditions.

3. Greeting Customs

The traditional Thai greeting is the wai, you press your palms together and give a small bow. You’ll often see this gesture when meeting locals or thanking someone in Bangkok. It’s a polite and respectful way to connect with people during your visit.

4. Tipping Practices

Tipping isn’t required in Bangkok, but it’s always appreciated. Leave small change for good service at restaurants, hotels, or taxis. Even a small tip shows gratitude and helps support the friendly service culture in Bangkok.

5. Market Haggling

Shopping at places like Chatuchak Weekend Market or Patpong Night Market is a fun part of visiting Bangkok. Bargaining is normal, so don’t be shy to negotiate politely for a better price.
