Fantastic 5.0
Our first-ever sumo experience was made even better thanks to Koji Kodaka. He spoke English and shared history and fun facts throughout the day. Even though our seats were high up, it was still incredible - just being inside the stadium was an experience in itself. Watching sumo live is truly a once-in-a-lifetime must-do.

A very interesting training, exactly what I had imagined. The providers were very accommodating and kind, and the photos after the training were exactly what I wanted.

Hilarious and informative. The English speaking guide, Charlie, (all in one) master of ceremonies, and referee was excellent. The voucher purchase and confirmation emails plus directions were easy to follow and the Koto City neighborhood turned out to be delightful. You will not regret this experience, especially if you choose to be a volunteer, get geared up like a sumo wrestler and perform the practice warm ups, as well as test your strength in one-on-one real match, with a real sumo wrestler! The lunch was excellent and you could have second servings if you wished. The setting is an actual sumo wrestling stable of a real famous accomplished wrestler who has since retired. The explanation of the daily warmup exercises that a wrestler must perform was the best part. You will learn a lot and want to come back for more! Souvenir towels and tee shirt selection was also high quality.

My partner and I absolutely loved this experience!!! The sumos were very impressive and added humour to the experience. I personally loved the history provided of sumos and how they spend their day practicing and eating. I will do this again when I return.

Eito was such a great guide. We had so much fun as this was such a unique experience you don't get to do often due to tickets being hard to get. I love horse races back home, but nothing could hype up how amazing this track was! It was a super easy commute, and it was a packed stadium of 50k people. We also got to bet on the horses and won almost every one! I think Eito is lucky, because we won a lot of yen. I would definitely go again, it was a highlight of our trip.

While it was a bit pricier than just getting a normal ticket, the fact that it was sold out and we were able still go was amazing. The tour guide was incredibly friendly and passionate about the sport, which made the whole experience even richer. Would highly recommend amigo tours for your sumo exsperience. 10/10

My son and I decided to take a kendo class on the last day of our trip to Japan as we had not practiced Kendo for a few years. We thought that an introductory class would be a good way to tip our toes back in before starting again in Australia. Nagamatsu-sensei was extremely proficient, professional and entertaining and very quickly was able to communicate the basics of Kendo to the other students who had never practised Kendo before. In the meantime he allowed my son and I to practice at a different level. Unfortunately, I had an unfortunate mishap at the end of the class (no fault of anyone else) which necessitated being sent off to a Japanese clinic. Sensei was extremely considerate and organised the Cab and gave instructions as to where to take us. A great experience nonetheless.

I had such an amazing experience at the salon! My hairstylist, Rika, was super attentive and professional, and the translator, Haiyan, was so kind and friendly, making the whole process smooth and enjoyable. Rika designed a hairstyle that was super trendy and youthful, with a very Japanese-inspired vibe—exactly what I was looking for! The style was cute, fashionable, and perfect for the modern Japanese look I wanted. The hair color was also done beautifully. It turned out so vibrant and stunning, and the color seems long-lasting too. I’m beyond happy with how it turned out! The whole process was such a joy from start to finish. I felt so relaxed and happy throughout, and I truly enjoyed every moment. A big thank you to Rika,Haiyan and the team for such a wonderful experience! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a stylish and high-quality Japanese hair makeover.

Tips before visiting Tokyo

1. Plan your train routes early

Tokyo has many train lines, so it helps to check routes on Google Maps before heading out. Most places sit within walking distance of a station, making your trip smoother. Keep a prepaid card for faster transfers.

Get your Suica card through Klook before you arrive, which saves time at the station. It’s easy to use for trains, buses, and even small shops around Tokyo, Japan.

2. Wear comfortable shoes

You’ll walk a lot when you visit Tokyo, especially in large areas like Shinjuku City and Shibuya. Streets and attractions are close but still require steady walking.

3. Bring cash for small shops

Many places accept cards, but some food stalls and older shops still prefer cash. Markets you'll visit, like Tsukiji Fish Market or small cafés, may not take cards.

4. Visit popular spots early

Places like Tokyo Tower, Asakusa, and Shibuya Sky get busy as the day goes on. Going early helps you enjoy calmer views and shorter lines. This works well if you're a budget traveler who want more time in each spot.

5. Check the weather before your day trip

Tokyo’s weather changes often, especially during spring and summer. If you plan a day trip to Mount Fuji or parks like Yoyogi Park, look at the forecast first. It helps you plan what to wear and what to bring!
