Fantastic 5.0
Would definitely recommend this tour. great value for money- small personalised group (ours was only 4 and this is apparently the norm). Even if your a regular race-goer Tokyo racecourse and the Japanese system is totally different and without this tour and our guide we would not have enjoyed, experienced everything, gained such great seats or understood the day as much as we did. it’s also a way to enjoy Tokyo like a local - we were practically the only tourists there!

I really liked it. They were very kind and attentive. They made my hair look spectacular, and when they finished, they gave me a gift. I would definitely come back. The salon is on the ground floor of the Imperial Hotel, which by the way is very nice.

You can get there by taking the train to Hawajima Station and then walking or taking a bus. For the return trip, there's a free bus ticket available. There are many hot spring baths, including steam rooms and saunas. Towels and robes are provided. There's also a lounge area with a great, very relaxing atmosphere. It's located on the 2nd floor of the Big Fun mall.

I had a really nice experience getting my feet and head massaged. was just what I needed at the end of my trip and she applied a good amount of pressure to my muscles. it was confusing to find since there’s another business on the 2nd floor that seems similar. this place is on the 7th floor.

What to know before visiting Tokyo

What Tokyo is famous for

Tokyo’s most-booked experiences mix panoramic viewpoints, museums and big-theme attractions, led by Observation decks, Museums and Theme parks in that order. Klook booking data shows demand peaks in February and has quieter months through mid-year, so the city alternates between festival-like busier periods and calmer months suitable for museums and cultural experiences. For visitors weighing crowd levels against atmosphere, decide whether you want peak-season buzz or quieter galleries and parks is the choice to make. All figures above are from Klook booking data and reflect typical booking patterns across the year.

Best time to visit Tokyo

February stands out as the busiest month, while August is the quietest: Klook booking data records a notable rise in demand in February and a trough in August. Prices drift across the year with the priciest median on Klook in August (AUD 51) and the lowest typical price in June (AUD 37), so crowd and price trends diverge — August is very quiet yet typically more expensive, whereas June combines lower prices with quieter demand. For lower prices and smaller crowds, consider June and the quieter mid-year months; for peak-season atmosphere, aim for February.

Month Demand Level Typical Price
January Busier than usual AUD 43
February Busier than usual AUD 48
March About average AUD 45
April About average AUD 43
May About average AUD 40
June Quieter than usual AUD 37

August Very quiet AUD 51
September Quieter than usual AUD 49
October About average AUD 45
November Busier than usual AUD 43
December Busier than usual AUD 45

Demand is bookings in that month compared with a typical month, from historical Klook booking data, grouped into the demand levels above; typical price is the median paid on Klook in that month; prices are shown with their currency code. Based on Klook booking data, July 2025 – June 2026.

Where to base yourself in Tokyo

Klook data shows Ikebukuro as the most affordable district on typical nightly hotel rates, with a typical rate around AUD 142, and Shibuya as the priciest, around AUD 358, a gap of roughly 60% between them. The lower end suits travellers prioritising budget and practical city access or longer stays, while the higher end suits those after lively nightlife, trendier neighbourhoods and a more premium hotel experience. These figures are derived from Klook booking data and illustrate the usual price spread between districts in Tokyo.

Tips for travellers from Australia

Most travellers from Australia typically book activities about 15 days ahead, and the earliest planners book roughly 32 days out, according to Klook booking data. That means you can often stay flexible and book a day or two before travel, but during February or other busier months it's wise to lock popular experiences earlier. Klook shows last-minute options around 7 days out, so use Klook to compare typical prices and secure tickets in advance when visiting in peak months — it keeps options open and reduces the chance of missing popular time slots.
