Things to do in Tiger Leaping Gorge

recommended tour. the basic meal pack consists of a bun, banana and fruit and pepsi. we stopped by 3 photo spots on the way. at zhanglaoshi rest stop, we changed to a smaller car and drove to the halfway house area. then we started the 6.8km hike (3.2km up and 3.6km downhill). the driver is also the tour guide, my tour guide was very professional and helpful. i was inexperienced in hiking mountain paths and needed extra assistance and he was there to assist me on the downhill section. important to note that for people with no hiking experience, the downhill path is rather scary as there are no barriers and the path is filled with rocks. this middle gorge route also does not include the upper gorge, so you won't be able to get the "iconic" tiger gorge photo. pick this route only if you are interested in the experience of hiking haba mountain. the hike takes around 2-3h depending on your speed and experience.

This one day tour was a great experience for me and my husband - absolutely breathtaking scenery. We were awed by the beauty of the landscape and for that to have happened, we greatly appreciated our dedicated guide (阿万 Ah Wan) who had driven us to the scenic locations and helped us with photos along the way. This is a cost-effective product that allows you to explore Tiger Leaping Gorge and Shangri-La by car for a day. However, since the tour is conducted in Chinese, it seems only suitable for those who can speak Chinese.

There were two of us in our group. From the moment we placed our order, customer service representative Aurora meticulously arranged and thoroughly explained the itinerary, and she also tailored it to our preferences. On the day of the trip, our driver and tour guide, Mr. Jun, took excellent care of us throughout the journey, which went very smoothly. Mr. Jun also provided detailed information about each landmark and its culture. The trip was extremely satisfying, and we thank you again.

Very nice tour. Not rushed. Just a steady pace for us to savor everything. Best day was the first day where we get to do a light hike and go mushroom picking. The weather was quite hot in the summer but nights were cool. Unfortunately the last day we didn't get to view the sunrise over Meili Mountains due to rain and fog. Anyhow big thanks to our excellent guide YiXiLaMu. Excellent driving and helpful in every way.

Tour provided hiking poles. We walked from where we parked to teahorse inn, back to halfway inn to have lunch and to longdong waterfall. Guide gave us the option to walk to Zhanglaoshi inn on our own instead of walking the same way back to the car and picked us up at the main road at the end of the trail. 12.7km hike in total but terrain was easy and beginner friendly. Guide took many photos of us and sent them almost immediately on WeChat. V safe driving on the mountain roads.
