Puffing Billy Railway tours

The ride on the Puffing Billy steam train was truly impressive! Sitting on the open carriage window sills, dangling our legs outside, and feeling the breeze while passing through lush green forests was such an exciting experience! The penguin parade was incredible! I was grateful to see around 60 penguins—on average, about 700 penguins come out to the island each day. Australian penguins are the little penguin and irresistibly cute! I was also delighted to see baby Cape Barren Geese; they are utterly adorable! Our tour guide is knowledgeable and cares for our basic needs such as going to the bathroom and having our meals during the day. I highly recommend wearing enough clothing because Philip Island is very windy.

The best experience had in Australia! Many thanks to our guide, Pete, who was incredibly enthusiastic and helpful throughout the trip. He took lots of videos and photos for us and gave us great introductions along the way. We really enjoyed the experience and truly appreciate all his effort!

Had a great time on this tour! We visited Brighton Beach, rode the Puffing Billy, and ended the day with the Penguin Parade. 🐧 Everything was well-organized and the whole experience was smooth and enjoyable. Definitely recommend! ⭐️

one of the best tours I’ve had. Luke was the driver and tour guide. He was highly knowledgeable and fantastic. I wish I had a few more days in Melbourne to book Luke for another tour. The tour (itinerary) itself was amazing and Luke made it even more memorable. I’ll definitely be telling my friends and family about how great the experience was. we started off at the Moonlit Sanctuary and fed wallabies/kangaroos. The highlight was spotting the wild wallaby as we drove to the penguins. The best part was seeing the little penguins come up from the beach and waddle up into the grass. the gift shop was great too. It was a sunny day but definitely windy. the gift shop had great embrodied jumpers and zip ups as well as blankets to purchase. I love the penguin parade. Great thank you to Luke for making it so fun too. We listened to his playlist and he sang.

The visit to Puffing Billy Railway was truly a wonderful and memorable experience. My family loves the scenic train journey through the beautiful Dandenong Ranges offered breathtaking views of lush forests and charming countryside landscapes. Is a must to visit Puffing Billy Railway when you in Melbourne. An unique attraction that combines history, nature, and fun.

we return this year after missing the opportunity to hop on this wonderful Puffing Billy Train last August as we unfortunately didn’t manage to secure tickets. It is advisable to book the train tickets in advance - we booked our Puffing Billy Train about 4 months prior to our August trip to Melbourne 😛

This tour worth every penny you spent. Driver and tour guide Evan is bilingual, he speaks in Mandarin and English. Evan is nice and informative. The itinerary and introduction of everything he provided is clear. we go puffing train railway directly, and spent 2hrs there including having lunch by ourselves. Taking the train is so much fun! If the weather is good, the view is super nice! We love it a lot. The train took around one hour from Lakeside to Belgrave. Then we headed to the Maru Koala animal park. Evan bought the group ticket for everyone, it costs $30 per person cheaper than the original price $33. The zoo has many animal, like kangaroos, white kangaroos, koalas, quokka, alpacas, dingoes, sheep and some reptiles. We can get so close with animal and take selfie, it was a great experience and we enjoyed a lot. Definitely will recommend this tour to everyone visiting Melbourne. The puffing train is one of the must do thing in Melbourne.

had a lovely day with guide Jess and tour mates. a big applause and shout out to Jess for being extremely patient and caring towards a pair of young girls missing from pick up area . Jess went extra miles to drive back to drop off area and everyone went off the bus to search for the girls together. all was well and the whole group of us returned safely back to the city together without leaning anyone behind. Jess even went extra miles to take video of us riding on moving the train and shared in group chat. tis was definitely one of my most memorable tour in Melbourne.
