Things to do in Gujo Hachiman Castle

The tour guide's explanations were incredibly detailed, thoroughly covering topics such as why pine trees are cultivated in Japan and the origins of certain local foods.

Very well paced tour with ample time to explore each area. Guide Lui Chang was very professional and she speaks 3 languages. This is not a guided tour. The guide will just explain what we can do in the area and the time we need to be back to the bus and we are off to explore the area on our own.

We mainly signed up for Gujo Hachiman Castle, and it's definitely worth climbing up to the main keep to take a look. The only downside was that we only had an hour in Gujo Hachiman, which felt a bit rushed if you wanted to climb up to the castle. In Hida Takayama Old Town, you must try Hida beef, and in Shirakawa-go, you absolutely have to go up to the observation deck. Our tour guide, Liu Chang, was excellent (100 points)! Before the tour started, she introduced the attractions in three languages (Chinese, English, and Japanese) and clearly communicated the meeting times. The driver drove steadily. It was a very fulfilling trip, highly recommended.

It was a good trip and our guide, Wang, was very helpful and generous in sharing information about every destination. He’s very fluent in English and also in Chinese/Japanese. Shirakawa-go is mu favorite stop and a must visit site. I just wish we had more time exploring every stop.

The guide Lily is good. She speaks English, Chinese and Japanese. She explains everything clearly and was very helpful.

Participated in Takayama plus Shirakawa-go tour with observatory. Time given for each location was adequate.

A superb trip to Hida, Takayama, and Shirakawa. The first two stops are charming and offer great restaurants, and the third is magnificent! Our guide, Wang Joe, provided explanations in Japanese, Chinese, and English – excellent!

Master Ma arrived early and was waiting. He was very nice, and our chat during the trip helped me understand Japanese culture better. He drove safely and comfortably. It was a great experience. Highly recommended!
