    To welcome back excited travelers, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau will be running the Taiwan the Lucky Land giveaway with 500,000 travel vouchers up for grabs for tourists traveling to Taiwan! 500,000 vouchers with a value of NTD5,000 each will be given to lucky foreign tourists over the course of three years, with 250,000 of them being given away starting this 1 May! The remaining vouchers are scheduled to be released in 2024 (150,000 vouchers) and 2025 (100,000 vouchers).

    What do you win with the Taiwan the Lucky Land Giveaway?

    What exact Taiwan travel vouchers do you win with the Taiwan the Lucky Land giveaway? Winners will actually be able to choose from two exciting prize options:
    Taiwan Travel Voucher Option 1: A prepaid *E-ticket card (EasyCard or iPASS card) with a stored value of NTD5,000. Travelers can use it as payment at stores and attractions that accept the card, but each payment will be capped at NTD1,500. Total spending usage for the day cannot exceed NTD3,000. 
    Taiwan Travel Voucher Option 2: Five **accommodation vouchers worth NTD1,000 each. Vouchers can be used at the participating hotels or bed and breakfasts listed on the campaign website.
    *Travelers who select the payment card prize option cannot sell them to other travelers
    **Please note that hotels and other accommodations will not pay for the price difference if the traveler uses the vouchers to pay for accommodations that cost less than the voucher value.

    How to join the Taiwan Travel Voucher Giveaway

    Now for the most important part, how can you join the Taiwan the Lucky Land Giveaway? To be eligible for the contest you must fit the following requirements: 
    • You are an independent traveler entering Taiwan with a foreign passport and visiting the country for three to 90 days. 
    • Not a member of any tour groups, and are not applying for any tour group-related travel incentives
    If you’re eligible, all you need to do is simply follow these steps:

    Taiwan the Lucky Land Giveaway Mechanics

    Step 1: Before departing for Taiwan, log in and register on the Taiwan Travel Voucher campaign website one to seven days before your *scheduled arrival in Taiwan
    Step 2: Check your email for your Lucky Draw QR code 
    Step 3: When you arrive in Taiwan, head to the event area at the **airport’s arrival hall and have your QR code scanned. 
    Step 4: If the Lucky Draw Screen shows you’ve won a prize, head to the redemption book to receive your prize!
    *The Taiwan Travel Voucher giveaway is only applicable for tourists visiting Taiwan starting 1 May 2023 on or after 12:00NN (UTC+8)
    ** Taiwan Lucky Draw Booths are ONLY located in the following airports: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, Taipei Songshan Airport, Taichung International Airport, and Kaohsiung International Airport

    Taiwan the Lucky Land Giveaway FAQs

    1. Until when will the Taiwan the Lucky Land campaign run?
    The Taiwan the Lucky Land campaign will run from 1 May 2023 to 30 June 2025.
    2. Can I use the accommodation voucher at any hotel or B&B?
    Accommodation vouchers can only be used at the campaign’s partner hotels and B&Bs in Taiwan. You can refer to the list of accommodations found on the campaign’s official website!
    3. Can I register when I arrive in Taiwan?
    No! Participants should register at least 1 day and within 7 days before their arrival. The Registration period will close 24 hours before your scheduled arrival date.
    4. Is there a 24-hour staff at the event booth?
    Staff availability will depend on the arrival time of flights at each airport.
    5. Can I redeem my prize anytime during my trip?
    Lucky draw and prize redemption can only be done and completed on the SAME day of your arrival. In case your flight arrives late, eligible travelers can extend their draw and redemption to within two hours after the scheduled arrival time of the last flight of the day at the same arrival airport.
    6. What if I can’t connect to the airport WiFi to retrieve my QR code?
    Don’t worry! You can use the original registration information in the Lucky Draw area to check.
    7. What if my flight is rescheduled or delayed, can I still join the giveaway?
    Yes, you can! However, if the flight is delayed and the arrival date differs from the date you originally registered, you will need to re-register for a new QR code.
    8. What’s the difference between the EasyCard and iPass?
    The difference between the two cards is the applicable stores you can use them at! You can check their official websites for more information.
    9. Is there an expiration date for the e-vouchers?
    The voucher must be used within 90 days from the date of collection. Any unused amount will be returned to the Tourism Bureau, MOTC. The first batch of vouchers are valid until Dec 31, 2023.
    10. If I haven’t used up all my vouchers can I exchange them for cash?
    No, you can’t.
