Only got to know about this building on the day that I visited Hiroshima. Easy to purchase via KLOOK & then redeem the ticket at the counter. A super cool & spacious observatory building for bird’s eye view of Hiroshima. Love the slopes which you can sit & chill on. Very unique! There’s an activity to fold a paper crane to add on to the tall ‘collection bin’ where you can see thousands of it at the building exterior, it’s beautiful! Then, there’s a super fun slide that takes to every level, down to the 1st! On every floor, there are massive wall art that you can take your time to appreciate. The souvenir shop is fun to browse!
Looking down the Atomic bomb dome site was another experience and left a different impact. Highly recommend to visit it. You will also learn how to fold a paper crane. Chilling at the deck was also super nice.
I highly recommend purchasing the Klook package, which includes the Kansai-Hiroshima JR Pass and two additional tickets. For one of the days, choose the Orizuru Tower; it's an excellent value (the Orizuru Tower ticket alone is ¥2200). The rooftop observation deck is absolutely beautiful! The views are fantastic, and you can comfortably sit on the steps to admire the Hiroshima scenery. On the 12th floor, you can fold paper cranes for ¥100 and place them into a large paper crane wall, which is visible from the outside. On your way down, you can stroll and admire the artwork on each floor, or you can choose to use the slide (you'll need to sign a consent form on the 12th floor). The slide is also a lot of fun; each floor has a separate section, so you can decide how many times you want to go down.
loved the view! great place to watch the sunset + we had fun doing origami and actually have that piece of use became part of the building. it was very memorable. Hiroshima was so good!
The tower on the corner of the memorial square is a must go to. You can see the city panorama like from no other place. It is healing, after paying respect to the city with visit of the memorial. You can also make a bird of peace with your own hands, using origami technic and drop it to the memory well. A special compartment inbuild into the tower. Your own little piece of acknowledgement.
This attraction has a very meaningful concept which involves having visitors fold a paper crane and dropping it into a part of the tower which can be seen from the front of the building. They have a goal they wish to achieve and I’m glad to be part of the contribution. The view above is amazing regardless of the time you visit.
I didn't expect the interior of this building to be this good in personal. Pictures don't do justice. The observatory feels so free and open to the outside almost like having a 270 degree panoramic view of the city from above. Half of the building footprint is just dedicated to access which composed of stairs, ramp, and a slide which anyone is free to use. Definitely worth a visit.
amazing place.. could see whole Hiroshima. staff over there were so friendly and kind to assist with everything. we did the sliding while coming down. all you to worry about is making sure your clothes won’t torn. If you go there you will see whole hiroshima, no need to even go anywhere if you are there only for sight seeing

Guide

  • HIROSHIMA ORIZURU TOWER is a popular spot located next to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.
  • From the rooftop observation deck, you can see the Peace Memorial Park, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and on a clear day, even Mt. Misen on Miyajima Island!
  • The café and product hall on the first floor is filled with the attractions of Hiroshima and offers a wide variety of souvenirs and new products.
  • This ticket includes the experience of putting origami cranes folded with special origami paper into the "ORIZURU WALL", the symbol of the HIROSHIMA ORIZURU TOWER!

HIROSHIMA ORIZURU TOWER is a comprehensive commercial facility which opened in 2016 on the east side of the Atomic Bomb Dome.

The rooftop observation deck "HIROSHIMA HILLS" is a wooden observation space surrounded by mesh, where you can have a complete view of the World Heritage Site of the Atomic Bomb and the cityscape of Hiroshima.

Moreover, when the weather is great, you can also see Miyajima Island, which enables one to explore two World Heritage Sites in the region. While blowing the comfortable Seto Inland Sea's breeze, you can experience the "scenery" and "feelings" that can only be seen and felt there.

In addition, at "ORIZURU SQUARE" on the 12th floor, you can fold cranes with special Origami paper and throw them into the "ORIZURU WALL". Let's complete the big wall with prayers of peace from all over the world.

On the SPIRAL SLOPE "Sampo", which leads from the first floor to the rooftop observatory, nine artists with ties to Hiroshima drew their thoughts on 2045 (the 100th anniversary of the postwar period) in WALL ART Project "2045 NINE HOPES".
