You can’t skip the queue with this ticket as you still need to swap it with a regular ticket at the counter. Otherwise, pretty good. Managed to see plum and cherry blossoms

One of our favourite parks we visited on our Japan trip. Absolutely stunning, and features unique architecture, a small bamboo forrest, turtles, and lots of koi fish. We visited in April 2026 in peak cherry blossom season - highly recommend.

There aren't many flowers yet, but it's still a place full of beauty in its own way. I had a good time meditating alone. Thinking about the garden in full bloom after mid-February makes me want to go back.

Beautiful, very relaxing garden. There was hardly anyone there, which was nice, very zen and minimalist.

Beautiful garden design, worth a stop for those who love photography or appreciate garden art. If you're not in a hurry, you can find a seat in the garden and quietly admire it.
Guide
- Shukkeien is a historic feudal lord’s garden that has been passed down since the Edo period
- Built in 1620, Shukkeien has overcome disasters and celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2020
- Located in central Hiroshima, the garden offers seasonal beauty and calm amid the urban landscape
Originally constructed in 1620 (Genna 6), Shukkeien Garden has endured significant damage over the centuries, including from a major fire during the Edo period and the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Each time, however, it was restored, and in 2020, the garden celebrated its 400th anniversary.
Located in the heart of Hiroshima City, Shukkeien has been carefully refined by successive feudal lords and has largely taken on the appearance we see today. Surrounded by the modern cityscape, the garden offers seasonal beauty throughout the year and is cherished as a peaceful retreat by visitors from both within and outside Hiroshima Prefecture.
