Good to know

  • The earliest reservation time is 9:00 AM. Please return the kimono by 5:30 PM, as the store closes at 6:00 PM. Please be sure to return the kimono before closing time. We recommend arriving early to avoid crowding. A late return fee will be charged for late returns.
  • Free luggage storage is available for rentals returned to the same store. For returns to a different store (between Gion Main Store and Kiyomizu-dera Store), please confirm with the staff on-site. For cross-store returns, please take your clothing and luggage with you. Store staff are not responsible for transportation.
  • Latest arrival time for wearing kimono: 3:00 PM. Please be sure to arrive at the store before this time.
  • Customers with reservations will be served first. Please be sure to arrive on time for your appointment. Please be aware that if you are late due to your own reasons and need to re-queue, you will have to wait.
  • A vanity and cosmetics are provided free of charge. If you would like a staff member to do your makeup, please purchase the makeup option.
  • The service time in the kimono store is 1.5-2 hours (including selecting clothes, wearing kimono, doing hair, etc.), which depends on the number of reservations. Please plan your travel time accordingly.
  • Kimono experience is prohibited for pregnant women. We do not accept pregnant women to experience kimono in our store. Please check yourself if you are pregnant. The pregnant woman shall bear all the consequences and losses caused by failing to inform us of her pregnancy in advance, please be aware.
  • Our customers are presumed to consent to the use of their likeness for promotional purposes. If you mind, please inform customer service in advance.
  • During peak seasons (cherry blossom season, autumn foliage season, etc.), there may be a wait. Please be aware of this.
  • Makeup and hairstyling can only be added by those renting kimonos. Services will be canceled for those who book makeup and hairstyling separately.
