Reviews
On May 29th, we visited the Kowloon Whampoa Harbour Grand Hotel to enjoy a lavish buffet lunch (12:00 PM - 2:30 PM). The price was reasonable and offered excellent value for money. There was a wide variety of food, and the quality and taste were guaranteed to be delicious. The hotel staff and servers provided excellent service. We've dined here many times and have never been dissatisfied. Our table was conveniently located near the food, which was perfect as one of our party was an elderly person who requested easy access to the buffet. The environment was pleasant with bright natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows, though the air conditioning was slightly insufficient, which wasn't a major issue. Regarding the food, there was roast beef, which is my favorite, as well as salmon sashimi, octopus, fresh scallops, and fresh red shrimp—all fresh and varied. The cakes and desserts were satisfying. There was a slight shortage of cutlery, but it was replenished quickly, perhaps because the kitchen couldn't wash and replace it fast enough. Overall, I give it a five-star rating; it was a satisfactory experience.
The buffet offers a wide variety of seafood, including both cold and hot dishes. Cold seafood options include king crab and clams, while hot seafood dishes feature braised abalone, cheese-baked lobster, braised fish maw, Japanese grilled eel, and garlic-baked oysters, perfect for seafood lovers! Additionally, there's an extensive selection of desserts, from Western cakes to Hong Kong-style tofu pudding, Hong Kong-style egg waffles, and Hong Kong-style ginger milk pudding, suitable for both adults and children. The buffet also features a live band performance, allowing us to enjoy our meal while listening to classic old songs, which is ideal for seniors. The dining environment is comfortable, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island across the water.
The crab legs and snails are especially plump (I didn't take the crayfish, I personally don't eat them), the mussels and shrimps are also big and fresh, and the oysters are fresh and normal in size right after they are opened. Sashimi is normal. I really like its slow-cooked oxtail, ox tongue, roast beef, grilled eel and several curries. The Salad is quite special. There are also 9 types of Mövenpick ice cream that you can eat. There are 4 types of durian desserts, but I didn’t try them because I don’t eat durian, so the desserts were okay. Its western soup: mushroom soup is of high quality. Perhaps because of fear of being exposed to the sun, the hotel closed the curtains, otherwise it would be better to dine facing the stunning sea view. You may be assigned to sit under the stairs, so the air conditioning is not enough. It is advisable to pay attention.
There are many kinds of food, including checkered cakes and mini Portuguese tarts that children love to eat. In addition, Zhongyou poured the liquor himself. The relatively rare salmon roe, lobster, and long-legged crab are endless. There are also tamagoyaki, tempura (sweet potato, shrimp), pan-fried duck liver, fish maw, lobster soup that is very rich and flavorful, various curries, laksa (soup noodles), braised goose feet, lamb, and steak, which are delicious. Good taste. There are two types of fish. There are 6 types of sashimi, and the sashimi ribbons are so big. I am very satisfied with all the desserts. There are 4 choices of durian, including tofu pudding, macaron, chocolate cake, tiramisu, ice cream, and fruit. The rare strawberry is in the middle. The lower part was quite bruised because the strawberries had not been cleaned and tended to rot (unfortunately).
Cheaper than buying from hotel buffet itself. Food is good and the price quality ratio cannot be beaten. Seafood is fresh and sashimi taste very good! Lots of Ice cream flavours as well. There is also a live band playing music, together with Victoria harbour view, is a superb experience!
This time, we were seated further away from the floor-to-ceiling windows, which was very comfortable (last time, our spot was in direct sunlight and extremely hot). As for the food, the seafood was fresh and delicious. Whether it was the shrimp, crab legs, oysters, or mussels, everything was incredibly sweet and flavorful. The sashimi was also outstanding. This visit, I focused mainly on seafood and sashimi, followed by dessert. I only had a little curry from the hot dishes because I was already about 70% full and wasn't very interested in the other options. I've been to this restaurant several times; it has high ceilings, a wide variety of food, and good service. Used dishes are cleared away very quickly.
Overall, the food was fresh and of good quality. The lunch buffet included crab, oysters, lamb chops, and pork ribs, which were excellent. The provision of gloves for guests was a big plus, but unfortunately, the supply was insufficient, which was a minor drawback. I hope the restaurant will pay attention to the stock. The restaurant was generally full during weekday lunch hours, creating a lively atmosphere. However, the tables near the window were too close together, making me feel a bit awkward. Later in the meal, the restaurant opened the curtains, allowing us to take photos with the sea view, which was great. However, towards the end of the meal, a foreign worker seemed to be cleaning the table with unpleasant language, and I hope the restaurant will provide more training. Finally, the provision of warm water in the restroom was very thoughtful and commendable.
This time I was seated further away from the floor-to-ceiling windows, which was very comfortable (last time my seat was in the sun and it was super hot). As for the food, the seafood was fresh and delicious. The shrimp, crab legs, oysters, and mussels were all very fresh and sweet, and the sashimi was excellent. This time I focused on the seafood and sashimi, followed by desserts. I only had some curry for the hot dishes because I was already about 70% full and wasn't very interested in the rest. I've been to this restaurant several times. It has high ceilings, a wide variety of food, and the service is good, with used dishes being cleared away quickly.
The food variety is extensive. The 300 RMB per person buffet lunch includes oysters, scallop sashimi, plump crab legs, grilled abalone, and unlimited eel. There are also 12 flavors of Movenpick ice cream to choose from, which is excellent! However, the hotel's homemade desserts could use some improvement. It's amazing that the weekday lunch is also full house. Hopefully, the waiters/waitresses can be more diligent in clearing dirty dishes from the customers' tables.
This is the first time I bought a buffet from Klook. After confirming the order, I didn’t have to call to reserve a seat. I just went to the hotel and provided my phone number to be seated. . As for the lunch buffet, there are really few crab legs and oysters. The cold dishes are all good, but the hot Chinese dishes are average. . Desserts include cakes, sugar water, pudding, and movenpick ice cream. . Drinks include grapefruit juice, apple juice, black tea (lemon is provided), cold and hot coffee, cola, and Sprite. . very satisfied
