Since it was lunch, and the actual price per person was 500rmb+ (not including the reservation fee included with Klook), the ingredients used in the dishes were average (for example, the ingredients for the bowl were duck meatballs). What I liked most about this visit was the girl who greeted us. She was lively, cheerful, and a bit shy. When you encountered something you didn't understand, she would actively use a mobile phone translator to look it up and explain it. Her hands were frozen red from being in contact with cold water too much, but she maintained her posture and etiquette in front of the guests throughout. Really, you basically can't see such a lovely girl in mainland China. I'll come again next time for her! I recommend tourists eat Kaiseki at noon, firstly because it will be much more expensive at night and you may encounter noisy guests who are drinking and having fun, secondly because eating too much at night is not easy to digest, and thirdly because you can't see the courtyard scenery clearly at night when it's dark. Behind the tea house is the Takano River, and the gurgling water is very pleasant. After the meal, the female owner waited in the doorway, and after seeing us to the door, she waited in the cold wind until we got on the bus and bowed goodbye. This dedication to every table of guests is truly an epitome of the Japanese Kaiseki experience.
20min by taxi from the Gion area, we loved this experience of dining beside the river in a private room. We felt very welcomed by our server and the food was great. The manager/owner (?) waited with us until our taxi arrived to take us back to the hotel. This was a great experience from start to finish.
Early in the morning, take a bus to [Kawaramachi Station] in Kyoto, then take a half-hour bus to [Heihachi-mae Station] to taste traditional Kaiseki cuisine at [Yamahana Heihachi Tea House], which was founded in the Tensho period and has a history of 440 years. This time-honored restaurant has a Japanese-style courtyard covering an area of 600 square meters and is antique. The dining area is an independent box with a bathroom. It is spacious and quiet. There is a terrace with a river view, which is quite good. Even desserts were served nine times. The meals were exquisite and tasted quite good. It is worth mentioning that when the meal comes to an end, the proprietress in kimono will come in to thank the customers for their patronage and keep bowing, which makes me a little overwhelmed. Booked through Klook, the Kaiseki lunch costs HKD 540 (approximately 10,000 yen), but the price is very reasonable for dining in a place like this, and can even be said to be great value for money.
Enjoy kaiseki cuisine in a Japanese independent house with a period feel. The overall service attitude is warm, the food is excellent, and the experience is very unique. Although the location is a bit out of the way, this place is really worth a visit. For transportation, just follow the directions on Google maps and take the bus. If possible, it would be better to drive by yourself. There is a parking lot nearby.
This restaurant has a history of 440 years. The dining environment and gardens are quaint and historic, and well worth a visit. The eel rice bowl has a whole eel on top of rice, which is rich and delicious. The staff's service was really polite and friendly, leaving us with unforgettable memories!
My family and I really enjoyed our experience at Yamabana. Everyone from the servers to the host were extremely kind, thoughtful and made our experience enjoyable. The view of the Kamogawa river was very relaxing. We ordered the Unagi, Tempura, and Imperial lunch menu set. Everything was delicious. Their tofu puff dessert was tasty too.
The environment is beautiful and the service is good. It is located on the only way to Sanzen-in from Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Classic kaiseki cuisine allows people to experience the charm of traditional Japanese cuisine.
The restaurant arranged a room with the best view. Outside the window is the beautiful river. The dishes are exquisite and the service is very good.
Dine in an old house that is over 400 years old. You will be surprised and moved at every turn. The scenery and food are as beautiful as a painting.
The elegant ambiance and beautiful scenery of a high-end Japanese restaurant, with attentive service from the female manager. The dishes are beautiful and delicious, and even though I was alone, they were willing to provide a private room with a separate toilet (washlet), which is very rare. I arrived an hour and a half early that day, and feeling tired, the staff quickly took my luggage to the room, offered hot tea, and said I could wait in the room. But I didn't want to miss the beautiful scenery of the garden outside. After the meal, they saw me off at the door, waved goodbye across the street, and I boarded the number 41 bus.
