Tokyo Meiji Shrine Cultural Guided Walking Tour

we had a group of 7 people, were felt like the perfect amount of people. I was solo on this tour, but never felt left out. Part because of the other nice people taking the tour, but also because of our lovely guide Manny. Manny told us about Harajuku before we headed to the Meji Jinku shrine grounds. Manny was very knowledgeable about the shinto religion, customs and rituals. The history and customs were presented in a fun and informative way. Overal, the tour felt very in line with the connections and knowledge emperor Meji is known for. Definitely take the tour if you are thinking about it. The grounds are very impressive. We were lucky to be here on a beautifully sunny day, which meant we were able to witness a few weddings happen on the shrine grounds as well as live Gagaku in the centre of the shrine grounds. I am very glad I decided to take this tour. Thank you fellow travelers and our guide Many for the beautiful experience.

Our tour guide Jasmine spoke perfect English, she was nice and answered all my questions. It felt like she enjoyed giving the tour and wasn’t just for the money. I would book with the agency if she’s our tour guide again. 10/10

Very informative and relaxing tour of the Meiji Shrine. Mak was our guide and he was really helpful and resourceful. He gave us a lot of background information and history of the area. He also showed us the traditional rituals. We started at 9am instead of 10am, but it was good timing as the sun was not as scorching hot and the crowd hasn’t arrived yet. We had a very small group on the day, just 2 families, so the tour was around 1.5 hours. There was also an understudy with us, Yumi, who was friendly and welcoming. She took good care of the group that was at the back, and offered to help us with photos so we can all be in a photo as a family. All in all it was a memorable and enjoyable experience.
