Pompei

Ito ang isa sa mga pinakamagandang tour na napuntahan ko at napakakumpleto ng pag-aaral tungkol sa mga nangyari bago sumabog ang Bulkang Vesuvius, at kung paano nito naapektuhan ang Herculaneum at Pompeii. Napakahusay ng aming gabay na si Fredo. Sinagot niya ang lahat ng aming tanong at napakarami niyang alam tungkol sa lugar at kung paano pinatigas ng pagsabog ang dalawang bayang ito sa paglipas ng panahon. Mahusay siya sa pagpapaliwanag ng pagkakatulad at pagkakaiba ng dalawang bayan noong 79 A.D. at ang mga guho/paghuhukay/pagpapanatili ng parehong lugar hanggang ngayon. Itinuro din ni Fredo ang lahat ng pinakamagandang aspeto ng kung ano ang napakahalaga sa mga guho at binigyang-diin ang sining ng arkitektura at sining sa buong lungsod sa iba't ibang mosaic at fresco. Talagang irerekomenda ko ang biyaheng ito sa sinumang interesado sa pag-aaral tungkol sa kasaysayan ng dalawang bayang ito. Siguraduhin lang na magdala ng tubig at mga panakip (sunscreen, salamin sa araw, sumbrero, atbp.) dahil maaraw at mainit ang araw na kami ay pumunta.

Ang petsa na pinili namin ay nagkataon na mayroong Italian cycling race, kaya hindi kami nakapunta sa sentro ng Naples para maglibot. Tatlong araw bago ang aming biyahe ay nakatanggap kami ng abiso, at nabanggit din sa sulat na maaari nilang tulungan kaming baguhin ang petsa. Naisip namin noon na makakapunta pa rin naman kami sa Pompeii, kaya hindi na kami sumagot. Ngunit, tinawagan pa rin kami ng staff para magtanong, at lubos kaming nagpapasalamat sa kanilang dedikasyon at responsibilidad. Akala namin ay lahat ay nakatanggap na ng abiso, ngunit nang magtipon kami sa araw na iyon, nalaman namin na marami sa mga nag-book sa pamamagitan ng ibang platform ay hindi nakatanggap ng abiso. it’s really value of the money. Good is they take you to the place and give you enough time to enjoy and walk in different area. shame I was booked it too late so can’t join others pack but it’s also good for it.

Angie and Josephine were organized and tried their hardest to keep the group together. We really appreciated their effort and the Pompei ruins were so interesting! The lunch before the Vesuvius hike was a thoughtful touch. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, the trek to the crater is quite challenging.

Thanks to our tour guide Michela, Pompeii guide Lily, and the Vesuvius guide (apologies, I don't remember his name) for their thoughtful and comprehensive introductions. Michela kindly led us throughout the day, Lily's detailed knowledge of Pompeii was impressive, and the Vesuvius guide's understanding of the volcano clearly showed his passion for nature. I distinctly remember after leaving Pompeii, our guide Michela quoted a line from the Bible's Ecclesiastes: "There is nothing new under the sun." This allowed us to imagine the lives of people 2,000 years ago through the ancient ruins and mountainous terrain! Due to the system's 3MB photo upload limit, I couldn't provide many of my good photos. I hope the system can improve this aspect.

The audio guide announced by the bus driver where you get off the bus is a private one! Do not go there~~ Once you buy your ticket and go inside, there is an official audio guide information desk! (Korean available) At the private audio guide rental shop, even after I asked for Korean and they checked the Korean passport I had laid out, they made me pay first (20 euros for two). Only then did they say there was no Korean, that they thought it was English because I spoke in English, that it couldn't be canceled because I paid by card, and offered a book instead. With no other choice, I accepted the English one, and when I rented the official audio guide inside, it was 14 euros for two. Although the pronunciation is a bit awkward, the Korean explanation is well done. Based on a cruise shore excursion, getting off, walking to find the bus stop, taking the bus, and making the round trip was not difficult.
