The best thing about Happo is the variety. There’s a bit of everything — cruisy groomers, steeper runs up top, and plenty to keep intermediate and advanced skiers entertained. You can do nice long top-to-bottom laps without feeling like you’re just riding lifts all day, which I loved. The snow wasn’t amazing this season compared to typical Japan powder standards, but honestly it didn’t matter. We still had heaps of fun, found good patches higher up, and the runs were well maintained. On clear days the views are unreal, especially from the upper mountain. It’s also super easy to head into the village after skiing for food or drinks, which makes the whole experience even better. I’d definitely go back.

This time, Coach Naipi led four children, ranging from 14 to 21 years old. Coach Naipi patiently taught each child individually, ensuring that even the weaker ones were not left behind, providing one-on-one guidance. The children who progressed faster were also able to ski down the mountain on their own. Everyone felt a great sense of accomplishment, and we hope to have the opportunity for Coach Naipi to continue guiding us next time. Thank you to the ski instructors.

This trip to Hakuba for skiing was a perfect experience from the moment of booking. The lessons were reserved well in advance, and email communication was highly efficient. They even created a group chat to confirm details closer to the departure date, which made us feel very reassured by their meticulousness. Originally, we booked lessons at Tsugaike, but the instructor, considering we were complete beginners, proactively suggested switching to Iwatake, where the slopes are more suitable for new learners. It turned out to be an incredibly wise decision! Iwatake's terrain is truly beginner-friendly. The 6-hour lesson was practically a "crash course": We not only learned front and back edge pushing, edge changes, and falling leaf, but even unlocked straight-line skiing! The instructor was incredibly patient, explaining theoretical knowledge in an easy-to-understand manner, making even complex movements simple to grasp. The most touching part was when we realized we had left our backpack on the mountain after coming down. The instructor, after leaving, returned to help us contact the ski resort staff to retrieve it, and even drove us back to our hotel afterward. We are truly grateful! I would definitely give it a 10/10. If anyone is planning to learn skiing in Hakuba, you can book with confidence.

It was cheaper than buying officially, and ticketing was smooth without having to queue, as it was done by machine. It was great!

Sehr gut organisiertes Skigebiet mit einem reibungslosen und modernen System. Das Abholen des Skipasses am Automaten per QR-Code war schnell und bequem, was im Vergleich zum Anstehen viel Zeit sparte. Die Lifte waren gut verwaltet und fühlten sich nie überfüllt an, sodass die Wartezeiten minimal waren. Insgesamt ein großartiges Skierlebnis – alles funktionierte perfekt und ich war vollkommen zufrieden.
