The tour guide for this group is from Hong Kong. Sheila, our guide, is a very thoughtful person. She reminded us that the journey would be long and advised us to prepare food from a convenience store to eat when hungry. The trip was very comfortable, and the tour bus was spacious with plenty of room, so it didn't feel crowded. Every 2 to 3 hours, there was a rest stop where we could buy food and use the restroom. The first day's itinerary was Kamikochi, and it was very well-arranged; we visited all the planned attractions. The weather that day was excellent, neither too hot nor too cold. Kamikochi's scenery is beautiful and well worth a visit; I recommend it to everyone. The first night's hotel was a hot spring ryokan in Hakuba Onsen. The buffet was delicious, and the food selection was abundant. The second day's itinerary was Tateyama Kurobe, but unfortunately, the weather was bad, and the Snow Valley was closed, which gives us a reason to visit again. We returned to Tokyo around 7 PM after the trip concluded. Guide Sheila also recommended some good restaurants to try in Tokyo. We followed her advice and went to a beef tongue restaurant, which was quite tasty. Many thanks to our guide for giving us such an enjoyable two-day, one-night trip.
We joined this tour a few days ago and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Sheila was our tour guide; she was friendly, helpful, and took excellent care of us. The accommodation was good, even though the hotel looked a bit old. The staff there were also very friendly. We did encounter a day of bad weather, and the snow wall was closed, but overall, this 2-day, 1-night trip was well worth it.
First and foremost, I must mention Sheila, our tour guide for this trip. She is probably the most dedicated guide I've encountered on these small group tours, always diligently assisting group members. With participants from various countries, there were naturally more complex issues, but she was always there to help resolve them. Furthermore, Sheila's communication and introductions were consistently excellent, regardless of language proficiency. Her explanations in all three languages were virtually identical, which is crucial; otherwise, it would feel like blindly following the main group. The itinerary was well-planned and fulfilling, allowing ample time to explore attractions and sufficient travel time to alleviate fatigue during the journey. However, because the accommodation was in a somewhat remote location and the hotel had limited items for sale, and while some snacks and late-night treats could be purchased at rest stops, the journey was quite long. I would suggest having a closer purchasing point before returning to the hotel for items that require refrigeration or freezing. Guide: Superb
Our tour guide Ashley and her assistant were very kind and attentive to every detail. We stayed overnight at the Hakuba Mominoki Hotel for two days and one night. The dinner was incredibly lavish, and the room was large and comfortable. The only minor drawback was that the bathroom was a bit small, but the coffee milk and milk outside the hot spring area were absolutely delicious. The Kamikochi itinerary involved walking over 3 kilometers to Kappa Bridge, but thankfully it wasn't a hot day, so the walk was pleasant. The water was very clear, and Kappa Bridge was beautiful. The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route involved constantly changing modes of transport. Before going, I thought it would be very interesting, but in reality, it felt a bit strenuous and different from what I imagined. Also, there were many people, the snow walls were crowded, and it was extremely cold, so we couldn't stay outside for too long and quickly went back indoors. After the trip, on the way back to Tokyo, we saw the snow-capped Mount Fuji, which was wonderful! Thank you, Ashley, for arranging everything so well.
The itinerary itself was simple: the Taisho Pond to Kappa Pond section of Kamikochi, and the Ogizawa to Murodo-daira section of Tateyama Kurobe. Since transportation to both places is inconvenient, entrusting it to a travel agency was a good choice. We stayed overnight at Kurobe Kanko Hotel. Although not new, it was very large and clean, had hot springs, and dinner was a buffet with all-you-can-eat sushi and crab, so it was a comfortable stay. The tour guide, Anni, was very friendly. She didn't introduce many sights, but she actively helped with all our needs, which was satisfactory. It was a bit regrettable that we didn't see the snow walls at Tateyama Kurobe this time due to strong winds, but the weather was good at Kamikochi and Murodo-daira, for which we are very grateful. 2025/5/29.30
It was incredibly satisfying to witness such breathtaking scenery in two different locations within just two days! We had Ashley as our tour guide, who spoke three languages, ensuring everyone could understand her explanations of the attractions. On our first day, we spent four hours in Kamikochi. Those looking for a leisurely stroll could choose to walk from Taisho Pond to Kappa Bridge, then enjoy a meal and browse shops nearby. Including time for photos along the way, four hours was just enough to complete the entire Kamikochi trail. However, it might be a bit challenging for group members with less stamina, and our guide Ashley had already advised everyone to pace themselves. We stayed at the Hakuba Mominoki Hotel for the night. The hotel's design was very warm and homey, with a large backyard featuring a foot bath, a small treehouse, and tables and chairs for guests to relax outdoors. The hot spring was very comfortable, providing the perfect end to a day of hiking. 🥰 We set off early on the second day, and Ashley was amazing, helping everyone secure the earliest train tickets so we could reach the Snow Wall as early as possible. The weather was excellent on both days of the trip, leaving us with no regrets! This was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend it to everyone!
I joined the 2D1N Kamikochi and Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route tour from Tokyo by EasyGO via Klook, and it was amazing. Our guide Merri Wu was punctual, kind, responsible, and made sure no one was left behind. He spoke Japanese, Chinese, and English fluently. The driver was careful and fast, and both ensured we had enough stopovers. Kamikochi was stunning with clear rivers and lush mountains. The Alpine Route from Ogizawa to Murodo was breathtaking, with snow walls and epic views of snowcapped mountains and Kurobe Dam. We stayed at ANA Holiday Inn Resort Shinano-Omachi Kuroyon, my best hotel stay so far. My room was big, modern, clean, cozy, fully equipped, and I had it all to myself. Both dinner and breakfast buffets were delicious and fresh. The view from the dining area of the mountains and forest was majestic. The onsen experience with the same view in the cold weather was the cherry on top. Highly recommended, even for solo travelers.
## Tourist Review A tour with a tight schedule due to long travel times, but it was definitely worthwhile thanks to the stunning scenery! A special shoutout to our talented tour guide, Ashley, who was exceptional at translating and accommodating everyone's needs throughout the trip. We were very lucky to enjoy beautiful weather on both days. On the first day, we spent about three hours at Kamikochi, which I felt was a bit too short if you want to explore all the beautiful lakes there. You would need at least 1.5-2hours if you want to visit the Myojin Pond from Kappabashi Bridge. More time in that area would have been ideal. After visiting Kamikochi, we took the bus to the Shakespeare Hotel and spent the night there. It had a cozy, antique vibe. While the basic amenities were sufficient, the furniture and facilities were a bit outdated and probably required some maintenance. It was also quite inconvenient that we couldn’t reach the staff at night. We woke up early at around 5 AM and traveled to Tateyama the next day. It was breathtaking! Arriving early helped us avoid the crowds, which was a thoughtful arrangement. Overall, it was a very good experience, and I highly recommend this tour to others!
Our guide was Martin, and he was very fluent in Mandarin. Our group had a mix of other visitors from Thailand, Singapore, and Taiwan. The driver was excellent, and the hotel with an onsen was great. The buffet dinner and breakfast were just okay but adequate. The trip involved very long drives from Tokyo, but I believe this tour is better enjoyed starting from Nagano. Overall, Kamikochi might not be so easy to drive to. So, this trip is good for those who only want to enjoy it for a day and explore just one side of the area. The overnight stay for our tour connecting to Kurobe Dam was not in the Kamikochi area.
