Coisas para fazer em Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden

Glad I booked the tickets online as by the time I arrived for my 1pm entrance, the next available ticket timing was for 3pm for those who didn’t reserve tickets! Weather was gorgeous today and I’m so thankful I got to see some sakuras before I fly!

My husband and I had a wonderful time here. Our guide Momoko was very insightful about Japanese history and provided some interesting facts whilst showing us the grounds. We would highly recommend this tour, especially with Momoko who is a delight. P.S The ice cream near the entrance gate is a must try (very refreshing after the tour).

Tomomi was our guide and teacher for this workshop. Firstly I have to say she was the first person ever who gave such precise directions for the location, it didn’t even take me a minute to find the workshop. please do look out for her email before. Tomomi is a very gentle and encouraging teacher and she explained the techniques so patiently and nicely… she also took us through the history of Darumo which was quite enlightening. all in all this was one of the best experience I have had in Japan. this one is a MUST do especially Tomomi”s workshop and class!!

Para conseguir un buen horario, es necesario comprar las entradas con unos 14-15 días de antelación. Reservé dos días y horarios diferentes porque esperaba hacer uno al atardecer y otro por la noche. Aunque entré en la página web inmediatamente cuando las entradas estuvieron disponibles, todas las opciones para el atardecer estaban agotadas. Pensé que llegar 1,5 horas antes estaría bien, ya que había un bar arriba, pero estaba tan lleno que no pudimos encontrar sitio para sentarnos y hacía demasiado calor (finales de agosto) para quedarnos en la azotea hasta el atardecer. Así que nos hicimos las fotos y nos fuimos. La noche siguiente fue mucho mejor. Reservé un horario a las 19:40 y fue mucho mejor. Hacía más fresco, tenían un espectáculo de luces y el horizonte era increíble.

It's a very nice exhibition, but don't expect too much and you'll like it... the views are spectacular and for that alone it's worth it. They only let you in 15 minutes before.

Stepping into teamLab Borderless at Azabudai Hills feels like crossing the boundary between reality and dreams. There's no fixed path here, only endless fantastical exploration. As light flows like ripples beneath your feet, you wander among shimmering light and shadow discs that sway like aquatic plants, making you feel as if you're in a dazzling, uncharted underwater world. Looking up, brilliant beams of light intertwine into deep geometric vortices; turning into another exhibition area, thousands of cascading fiber optic lights pour down like a rain of stars, enveloping you in a three-dimensional galaxy of flowing colors. The most captivating experience is undoubtedly the EN TEA HOUSE. As you pick up your matcha and ice cream, the previously still tabletop immediately blossoms with vibrant flowers and foliage, with blooms and wilting all happening within your cup. In this boundless labyrinth constructed from light, shadow, sound, and technology, every turn is a captivating feast of digital art.

Brendan was really great! I saw his tour yesterday, and I’m at the Edo-Tokyo Museum today and so much makes more sense after having done his tour of the Imperial Palace. The explanations in the museum are a bit dry and dense with facts, and I don’t have a lot of connection to annecdotes which help me remember what happened and why. Brendan’s tour really helped fill in some of that for me, and provided me a much better context. I’d recommend to anyone — do his tour first, before the museum, for greater understanding!

If you're looking for something authentic - look no more! This is a visually very immersive experience. The music, the actors all did a beautiful job and it was very entertaining. And you get a souvenir!
