Beppu Passeios

I ended up traveling alone and wasn't sure what to do, but luckily there was a tour available, so I joined it! I was feeling lost on my own, but Guide Joo Young-chan was incredibly kind and explained everything to me, including good places to visit and precise timing. Thanks to him, I was able to create wonderful memories. And thanks to U Tour and Guide Joo Young-chan, I even got free snap photos through the Chiiz app, which was fantastic! I'm truly grateful, and I felt this was an essential tour that I would definitely book again if I ever return to Fukuoka! I highly recommend it for families, couples, and solo travelers alike!!!

Our Chinese-speaking guide, Daisy, provided meticulous explanations throughout the entire trip and took great care of the elderly members of our group. She even created her own recommended Google lists for different areas and enthusiastically helped us call to order delicious kamameshi (rice cooked in an iron pot) from the restaurant in front of Yufuin Station. We tried all three flavors – beef, chicken, and eel – and they were truly amazing! At Tenmangu Shrine, she professionally advised everyone on which shops to visit first (because they were closing soon) and shared how to pray and make wishes. On the way back, she recommended great places to eat and fun things to do in Fukuoka. Tour A offered a rich and interesting array of sights, allowing those who love shopping and good food to enjoy a fulfilling day. However, the itinerary was tight and felt a bit rushed, and the travel time between destinations took a while, so we couldn't fully enjoy shopping (how much do I love shopping, really?). Next time, I want to go to Yufuin by myself (I bought so many Miffy rabbits)!

The best part of this trip, besides the diverse itinerary, was probably the photos taken by our guides. Free photo shoots? That's something other travel agencies don't offer! And they used a Leica camera! The unique, emotional feel of the photos perfectly matched Japan. Honestly, I didn't realize it much when they were taking the pictures during the trip, but after receiving the edited photos, I thought back to that time and realized that photos are truly what remain. Our guide was also incredibly kind and felt like a close friend who took care of us without any burden, from before the trip until the very end! Thanks to her, I was able to enjoy the trip comfortably with my parents. I highly recommend this tour to anyone considering a Yufuin tour with their parents! Due to circumstances, I couldn't experience the onsen, but if you go to Yufuin, I really hope you'll try the hot springs. The foot bath at Beppu Kamado Jigoku was so wonderful that it made me understand why people love onsens. If I have another chance to go, I'd love to travel with 'Travel Han Geureut' again. Guide Lim Jeong-won, you worked so hard! I hope to see you again next time.

This Dazaifu + Yufuin + Beppu day trip was generally well-planned, and the attractions were definitely worth visiting. However, it rained all day, which certainly affected the experience and mood. The planned cable car ride was canceled due to a typhoon and replaced with a visit to Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell), which was a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, the attractions themselves were unique, but it would have been more complete if the original plan had been followed. Yufuin itself is beautiful, but with the continuous rain that day, walking around the town was a bit inconvenient, and I couldn't stroll or take photos at leisure, which slightly diminished the overall experience. Although the weather and itinerary changed, the tour guide performed excellently 👍 and was very responsible throughout. I left the group in Yufuin to stay two nights there and one night in Kurokawa, experiencing the onsen (open-air hot springs). When I left the group, the guide even helped me call a taxi 🚕 so I could get to my hotel smoothly, which was truly thoughtful.

The trip was so good. We went to the zoo in the morning and then to umi jigoku, seeing mount yufu on the way to yufuin. Our guide Nicole Yang was very good in explaining and very helpful. She help me taking pictures since I am a solo traveler.

We had a lovely time during the entire tour. We had enough time at every stop for us to enjoy. The itinerary was well organized. We were never rushed. We had Matthew with us as our tour guide and he was really great in giving us information regarding the scenic areas that we went to. We really appreciated his calm demeanor throughout the trip and his food recommendations. He sent us links and locations for us to easier navigate them. He was responsive to all our inquiries and always emphasized safety and to contact him should we have any concerns. All in all we had a wonderful experience.

The tour guide was exceptionally professional and friendly. Highly recommended day trip!!! Started the morning with peaceful vibes at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine – the plum blossoms and autumn leaves were stunning, and you can feel the history in every step. Then we headed to Yufuin Town – think Studio Ghibli meets hot spring paradise. After lunch, soaked in the views of Mt. Yufu and explored the cute cafés and craft shops. Next up, Beppu Ropeway for jaw-dropping views of the city and the bay from above. The cable car ride alone is worth it! Additional 1700 yen. Last but definitely not least – Kamado Jigoku (one of Beppu’s famous “Hells”). Not only did we see bubbling geothermal ponds and steam vents, but we also got a complimentary onsen egg (so creamy!) and a refreshing lemon soda to wash it down. A perfect mix of culture, nature, incredible food, and quirky onsen fun. Highly recommend this route for anyone visiting Fukuoka/Oita!

Tour guide Ishibashi's introduction was excellent. It's impressive how one person can manage an entire tour bus full of passengers. Everyone in the group was also very punctual, and there were no major delays in the itinerary. Yufuin, the fairytale town by Lake Kinrin, is truly too vast to explore fully, and with so many people, there were queues almost everywhere. This trip felt a bit like a whistle-stop tour; next time, I'll plan more time to enjoy it properly. Beppu's Kamado Jigoku (竈地獄) is very touristy, with its seven colorful hot spring pools. We just ate a hot spring egg, queued for the restroom, and then left. They sell hot spring bath salts and facial masks, and the postcards are quite unique. By the time we arrived at Dazaifu, it was already three or four o'clock, and the sky was getting dark, making photos look hazy. The guide suggested we turn left after entering, as there are also two spiritual ox statues inside, so there's no need to queue at the entrance! The Ume-ga-mochi (plum branch mochi, with a mochi shell and red bean paste) is very sweet; there are several shops selling it, just pick the one you like. Overall, the day trip was quite good. Although it inevitably felt like a quick glance, it's highly recommended if you're short on time but want to visit multiple attractions.

Although it was raining, the overall itinerary was very well managed. The mini-bus came with two guides: Zhu Zhu, who handled Chinese and Korean, and another male guide who could provide explanations in fluent English. This was my first time joining a one-day tour, and I was surprised that they even accompanied us on foot. Zhu Zhu is an excellent guide; she provided detailed information about restrooms and lunch options and consistently ensured the group stayed together and that everyone was accounted for. The entire trip was very enriching. Although the schedule was a bit tight, it was actually sufficient even for those who love taking photos. In the end, they even gave us small gifts! Since I was staying in Takachiho, I opted out of the return journey, and Zhu Zhu very enthusiastically discussed the drop-off location with me. I'm very happy I joined this one-day tour and highly recommend it!
