Experiência de Águas Termais no Yangmingshan Tien Lai Resort & Spa em Taipei

On a cold, rainy weekend, there were fewer people at the open-air hot spring and fewer diners in the restaurant, so the overall experience was quite good. The staff in the outdoor area of the open-air hot spring were friendly and polite, and they even offered free hot ginger tea.

The food was surprisingly good. I specifically chose to go on a weekday, so there weren't many people, which made it quite pleasant and comfortable. Although the hotel is older, the overall hygiene maintenance is still very good.

Today, I bought a hot spring voucher for Tianlai Hot Spring Resort on Klook. It's incredibly cost-effective for those with children. The voucher includes a President's Beef Noodle Soup and a hot spring pass for one adult and one child. The President's Beef Noodle Soup was decent, but the hot spring environment was truly wonderful. We happened to visit during cherry blossom season, and soaking in the hot springs amidst such beautiful surroundings really allowed us to relax both body and mind. The hot spring area is divided into many sections, so you can choose the pool with the temperature you prefer, and children won't have to worry about it being too hot. After the hot spring, we even received popsicles. It was truly a fantastic trip.

I decided to try the Lianlai Resort because of the good reviews online. From Taipei Main Station (MRT), the bus stop is across from Exit 3 of NTU Hospital. Make sure you take bus 1717 from the opposite side of the road, and it will take you to Lianlai Resort in about 1 hour and 20 minutes. This changed in December 2025, so if you rely on old online information, you might not find it. The sulfur hot springs were excellent, but there are no supermarkets or restaurants nearby, so it's a good idea to prepare in advance. Lunch at the resort costs about 10,000 won per person for a beef steak. In January, it's too cold to use the water park, but the hot springs have several pools, and the water was truly wonderful. You might experience some motion sickness on the bus, but it was a great way to leave the city and enjoy nature. I heard breakfast and dinner are buffets, but lunch was just average. It included soup, bread, salmon salad, Haagen-Dazs ice cream, coffee, tea, beef steak, and a slice of cake for dessert. The staff served it kindly as a course meal. I appreciated the friendly staff, and the showers have shampoo and body wash, but only one towel is provided. If you manage the bus ride well, it's a great place to visit.

I loved it! I didn't expect the dining to be a buffet, with Haagen-Dazs ice cream and steak, among other things. The hot spring view is beautiful and the atmosphere is great, and there's even a bedrock bath. I'll definitely visit again if I have the chance!

The top choice for hot springs, a place where children also have a blast on the water slides.

The reception staff, safety/beautification personnel, and cafe staff are all very kind. The outdoor hot spring facilities offer a variety of baths, and the children's swimming facilities, slides, and indoor hot springs all provide excellent value for money. Although we visited on a day when a typhoon was approaching, and there were some anxious moments, it was still enjoyable regardless of the weather. I would love to come back with my family on a nicer day. (Since it was a day with strong winds and rain from the typhoon, there were leaves, branches, and other debris floating in the baths that occasionally brushed against our feet, but this was understandable and forgivable.)

It's good value for money, and even better when it rains. The road to get here is a bit long, but the staff are friendly and the guides do a great job with safety management. I purchased the set that includes tea and cookies. First, I went to the spa shop on the first basement floor to get a paper coupon, a towel, and a locker key. Then, I went up to the cafe on the first floor, presented the paper, and enjoyed milk tea and cookies before coming to the spa. It's wonderful! The sauna is also at a temperature where Koreans can comfortably sleep. It seems the last 1717 bus is at 5:30 PM.

On the first day of 2021, with the cold winter break and low temperatures, it's the perfect time to visit our favorite hot spring resort, Tianlai, and enjoy a warm and happy afternoon with the whole family!
