Our food tour with James was wonderful. He was very friendly and nice to chat with, which made the tour feel relaxed and fun. The food he introduced was really good, and we enjoyed discovering new local flavours. A great experience overall!
Our tour guide's name was Del. He meticulously led us through every street, and on both sides of the main river, he stopped to tell us about the history from a hundred years ago. Although our English proficiency wasn't very good, Del was still very patient, speaking slowly word by word, so we understood almost 80-90% of the content. The walking pace made us feel very relaxed. Upon closer inquiry, we learned he was a retired doctor, and he also shared a lot about healthy eating with us. We were incredibly lucky to meet this tour guide. For first-time visitors to Chiang Mai, I highly recommend joining this tour. If you're as lucky as I was, you might also meet him.
Great food tour! Our tour guide Ms Pranom Tapor is knowledgeable & provided excellent insight into the foods we tried. She also helped us to order our foods & arranged for us to be seated, making it easier for the group to enjoy the great foods without any hassle.
This tour is a tiny hidden gem! We had Sunny as our guide, not only was she very knowledgeable, nice, and took us to great places, but she also provided us with great tips and fun facts about Chiang Mai. 100% would recommend! The food was really interesting (we loved the dumplings).

Just select your departure date and time slot (there are three sessions: 8:30, 11:30, and 14:30) and the number of people. A day before the trip, a confirmation email will be sent to your inbox, providing details of the meeting point and photo instructions. We arrived at the meeting point at 8:15 AM (by the Somphot Bridge, under the pedestrian overpass across the street from Tom Lamyai Flower Market). We first explored the fresh flower market; the flowers were very fresh and inexpensive. At 8:30 AM, a guide wearing a green Trip Guru shirt came to meet us. The guide, Nana, was a middle-aged woman who spoke English throughout, which was good. She then took our family of three on a half-day tour. The first stop was Lung Khajohn Wat Ket. We crossed a bridge, and because my daughter needed to use the restroom, we first went to a nearby temple. This place is mainly known for its steamed rice skin dumplings with peanut filling. We also had two fresh coconuts and enjoyed eating them by the roadside. Afterward, we turned back and crossed the bridge to Warorot Market. Along the way, we bought baby corn and other snacks. Then we went to Go Neng, a shop specializing in uniquely shaped fried snacks, such as dragons, elephants, and crocodiles. Actually, their non-shaped fried items are very cheap, but the shaped ones are a bit more expensive. Served with two types of coconut milk dipping sauces, the taste was excellent, but it can get a bit rich if you eat too much. Next, we bought some famous mango sticky rice from a stall in Warorot Market. The last stop was Guay Jub Chang Moi Tat Mai, which sells spring rolls with gravy and pork noodle soup. The crispy fried pork belly was also quite good.
This tour offers a culinary experience, guided by an expert, to Chiang Mai's famous street food stalls. Initially, I completely misunderstood the meeting point and got lost, eventually having to take another taxi to finally meet the guide. There are morning and afternoon tours; I chose the afternoon tour because I thought I'd be full from breakfast in the morning. However, I recommend the morning tour for a more vibrant dining experience. I thought the cost of the food experience was included, but you have to pay for the food yourself. However, it's inexpensive, so the food cost isn't much. It's great that you can easily find restaurants that would be difficult to locate if you were going alone.
Pattie is an amazing guide. She was really jolly and patient in answering our questions, gave us insight into the local culinary scene, and each dish was truly unique to Thailand at large. This reason alone makes the tour worth it. However, I didn't like the fried donut place; it was unique, but probably not my style. And the tour is only 2 hours; the information in this listing is quite confusing.
