My instructor, Sam, was thoughtful, explained things clearly, and made learning fun – a perfect coach! 🫵🏻🫶🏻 ⸻ The whole process is roughly as follows: Day before · First, go to the Queenstown city store to pick up your equipment. Then, take the equipment back to your accommodation and bring it to the ski field/shuttle yourself the next day. When picking up equipment, staff will provide two hard cards (passes). · It's recommended to pick up in the city, otherwise, you'll have to queue for a long time at the ski field. ⸻ 📌 If you've added a city-ski field shuttle service: · When placing your order, choose your shuttle pick-up location. I chose Crowne Plaza. When selecting the location, the Klook system will show the departure time. For my location, it was 7:40 AM. It's always recommended to arrive 10-20 minutes early. · When boarding, the driver will confirm your reservation name and help place your skis/poles in the luggage compartment. You'll take your ski boots and other personal belongings onto the bus yourself. · The bus will first stop at a parking lot halfway up the mountain to pick up other tourists who drove up themselves. After the bus is full, it will continue to the ski field, arriving around 9:30 AM. · The driver will explain on the bus that you'll take the same bus back. It's recommended to take a photo or note down the license plate number, as it will be much more convenient for the return journey. ⸻ If you lose the hard card you received the day before: · After arriving at the ski field, go up the stairs, and the lobby is on your left. There are two self-service machines to the right of the lobby entrance. · Use the barcode in the attachment of the email sent by the official ski resort (not Klook's email) to scan and re-receive a soft card pass. ⸻ Need to change equipment: · If your ski boots, skis, or other equipment are not the right size, you need to take your pass to the Rentals area and queue to exchange them. · Rentals is to the right of the ticket office in the lobby. Just queue there. ⸻ Class process: · Classes start at 10:30 AM. · After getting your equipment on, follow the crowd straight ahead, pass through the red archway, and look for the orange flag on your left. Tell the staff you are attending the one-day beginner course, and they will help with group assignments. First lesson: · Mainly learn basic techniques: putting on/taking off skis, finding your dominant foot, braking, S-turns, and how to ride the magic carpet. · Afterwards, you'll first practice on a small gentle slope, then do actual skiing on a small hill. Lunchtime: · Just leave your equipment on the small slope next to the class location. · Lunchtime is from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM. · Return to the meeting point promptly at 1:45 PM to continue the lesson. Second lesson: · If the overall condition of the entire group of students is good: · The instructor will usually take everyone for 1-2 runs on the small slope to warm up and check their condition. · Then, take the chairlift to the top of the mountain, and the instructor will lead you down the easiest beginner trail for about 2 runs. Class ends at 3:45 PM. ⸻ Return shuttle (for those who purchased round-trip transfer): · The shuttle bus departs at 4:15 PM. · Many people will queue near the ticket office to board the bus, but you don't need to join that queue. · Walk towards the stairs at the entrance, turn right, and walk straight. Many buses will be parked there. Find the same bus you took in the morning (which is why it was suggested to note the license plate earlier). · After the driver confirms your reservation name, you can board the bus, and then it will return directly to Queenstown city.

1. Location: In the mountains, accessible by self-driving or by taking a dedicated bus from Queenstown (NZD 44 return). There's a timetable, and the bus departs once all passengers have arrived. 2. Equipment: You can rent equipment the day before at the city office, or on the day at the mountain, but expect longer queues. If renting in the city ➡️ you can leave your snowboard at the office and pick it up when boarding the bus the next morning; other items like shoes and hats must be taken with you. (Staff are very friendly) 3. Experience: The ski resort is large, so it's not too crowded to ski comfortably. The Chinese instructors are very professional and patient, teaching diligently. You can learn basic skiing techniques in the beginner class and successfully ski down the longest slope.

This package includes access to many facilities! The staff at the ski rental shop were very friendly! The ski equipment and clothing were also odor-free and very warm. The skiing experience at Cordrona was truly fantastic! The instructors were all very kind and always encouraged us, even when we weren't skiing well! However, KLOOK didn't clearly state where to meet the instructors at the ski resort. After we got off the bus, we waited for almost 20 minutes. We couldn't stand it anymore and asked a staff member, who told us we needed to find the orange flag for beginners to gather, and that classes wouldn't start until after 10:30! I hope KLOOK can improve this aspect! I give the ski resort a very high rating, more than 5 stars. But I feel KLOOK's platform needs improvement! And to be notified two days after swiping my card that the tickets were sold out?

Snowbords at Cardrona was such an amazing experience! The instructors were all super friendly. Even though we didn’t ski very well, they kept encouraging us the whole time! Our Mandarin coach, Tyler Ding, was especially patient — I’d give him 10 stars if I could! There are hot meals sold at the ski resort, but they’re a bit pricey. They also sell coffee and offer free hot chocolate, hot water, and cold water. However, there aren’t many seats inside the restaurant, so be prepared to have lunch outside! The shuttle bus ride was also smooth and comfortable! The staff at the gear rental shop were also amazing — super friendly! The ski jackets and pants were really warm and didn’t have any bad smell at all! The only downside was that we had requested a Mandarin-speaking instructor, but no one told us where to wait. We ended up waiting at the bus stop for about 20 minutes. Eventually, we walked into the ski area ourselves and asked a staff member, and that’s when we learned that beginners need to look for the orange flag, gather there, and wait for the lesson to start at 10:30 AM. We really hope KLOOK can provide clearer instructions for this part in the future!

The price is reasonable, the coach is very professional and teaches meticulously, and the equipment is complete. It is recommended that beginners practice basic inline skating domestically first, as it will be easier to pick up the skills.

It's great to have Chinese lessons, and the teaching is very clear. However, during student holidays, the magic carpet always has a long queue, so the number of times you actually get to ski is limited. Renting equipment in Queenstown beforehand also saves a lot of time.

It was so easy to book, and the staff were great in helping us get our rental gear. We were a bit confused about where to go for our lesson once we got to the mountain, but it was a great day out overall.

What an incredible day! From the moment we arrived via bus (fyi take your nausea tablets and sit up the front if you get travel sick!) to going through check in and getting our ski gear it all went seamlessly! We had four children varying ages skiing, all in beginner lessons. The teacher’s were fabulous! We spent most time with our youngest and her teacher Ben, he was so good with all his students from explaining techniques so young ones can understand, to the supervision, attentiveness and encouragement he really was fantastic! The food was a big surprise actually, I wasn’t expecting much but the options were plentiful! I had a hosein tofu salad wrap and vegetarian spring rolls. Tomato sauce is fee!! And filtered water is free! So bring your water bottles and utilise the water stations. There are plenty of places to sit inside or out and there are several places to get a barista made coffee along with alcohol. We went mid September and there was still plenty of snow. We had booked our bus and lesson the previous day however the mountain had closed due to strong winds, it wasn’t an issue however, they just moved us to the next day. We’ll absolutely go again, it was so much fun!
