I originally thought that compared to Anping Fort or Chihkan Tower, this bare city with only a city gate left wouldn't have much to see. However, I unexpectedly and fortunately encountered a free volunteer guide. After completing a tour with the guide's detailed explanations, I truly felt that this city is indeed worthy of being a national first-class historical site! As Taiwanese, we really should come and take a deep dive to understand and experience it.

Tainan's famous historic site, originally priced at $70 per person. It's slightly cheaper on the Klook platform, and Tainan citizens get free admission. Parking is $30 per visit. You can reminisce about the ancient battlefield, military drills, and watchtowers. The visit takes about 30 minutes to an hour. It's even more cost-effective to combine it with the Tainan 4-attraction pass.

Parking at the entrance costs 30 NTD, manually collected. Due to post-typhoon cleanup, the venue will open at 12 PM. The on-site staff recommended a 220 NTD joint ticket package, valid for four attractions with no date restrictions. However, since I had already booked through Klook and visited other attractions, I did not purchase the on-site ticket.

I used to visit Tainan often, but I never went inside the Eternal Golden Castle. This time, I had some free time, and after going in for a walk, I discovered that the scenery is beautiful and the historical site is well worth appreciating.

Online ticket purchase allows for convenient and quick entry. The historical park is great for taking photos. We serendipitously encountered a guide who showed us the only real cannon in Taiwan, which has a rifled barrel. We almost rushed through, but this ticket was totally worth it! The rifled barrel alone was worth spending a long time photographing, constantly looking for the perfect spiral angle…

There are many large and small cannons inside, as well as plenty of outdoor tables and chairs for resting. You can also enjoy the flowering trees. It's free for Tainan citizens and has good parking!
