We arrived at the hotel lobby on time, and our guide, Jane, and driver, Sister Zhen, were already waiting downstairs. Our tour began immediately. From the moment we left the hotel, Jane started introducing the scenery on both sides of the car and sharing other information related to Guilin. We stopped at every scenic spot for photos and explanations. Our first stop was Xiangong Mountain, where we climbed about 200 meters to the summit to enjoy the views of the Li River. I initially thought the guide would just buy tickets and let us go up on our own while she waited below, but she actually climbed the mountain with us, explaining the scenery in different directions and helping us take photos. Afterwards, we took a boat along the Li River to Xingping Ancient Town to see the scenery depicted on the back of the 20-yuan banknote, then had lunch at our own expense in the ancient town. To be honest, although it's called an ancient town, it has developed into a very bustling tourist area. So, while the restaurants all offer beer fish, there isn't much unique about it anymore. Instead, the guide suggested another option: taking us to a farmhouse restaurant in Yangshuo. Since I had only mentioned wanting to try bamboo chicken, I decided to change our lunch location. That restaurant offered good dishes like bamboo chicken, beer fish, and stuffed snails. Finally, we went to Jiuxian Village to ride electric bikes. The guide led us along the Li River, through the fields, to visit the 500-year-old Yulong Bridge. We spent over an hour there, which was a lot of fun. Overall, perhaps because we just wanted a leisurely tour without too many special requests, we were very satisfied with the entire day's itinerary. Both the guide and the driver were very professional and thoughtful.
