I am extremely grateful to Seonhwa Hanbok Rental and the tour operator for allowing me to reschedule my rental date because it hadn't crossed my mind that Gyeongbokgung Palace is closed on Tuesdays and I mistakenly booked a rental on that day. Thank you so much for your kind consideration! It is no doubt the most booked rental service here because it has tons of hanbok to choose from! You can choose whatever you like based on your size and there's no category be it basic or premium, it is up to you to choose what suits you best! They also fix your hair and let you borrow some accessories like purses and hair pieces. Every staff is so kind and accommodating. They make you feel beautiful inside and out. They also let you keep your braids after the rental so I kept mine 'til my flight back home that night. My advice for others is to NEVER BOOK ON A TUESDAY and try to book the 9:00AM slot to have more options to choose from. Also, if you're planning to book some time this winter, try to add on a fur coat because it gets really freezing outside :)

Advantages: 1. Very close to Exit 4 of the subway station; you'll see it right after you exit and walk back a bit. 2. Very close to Gyeongbokgung Palace; just cross a zebra crossing from the hanbok shop. 3. The price is the same for both queen-style and traditional-style hanboks. 4. For women, the staff will carefully help with dressing. 5. Staff can speak Chinese. 6. Free hair braiding is provided. Disadvantages: 1. It can get quite chaotic when there are many people on-site. 2. Some sizes and styles/patterns are limited. 3. There are no shawls available here, only vests. 4. Some staff members seem less experienced; the one who braided my hair pulled it a bit painfully and was quite casual. 5. Men's styles are also limited, and the staff did not proactively explain the accessories men should choose, leaving my companion confused. 6. The queen-style hanboks are all sets and cannot be mixed and matched, and there are fewer choices. If you want a special experience, you might consider other shops. Overall, if you're looking for a simple and quick hanbok experience to take photos at Gyeongbokgung Palace, this place is still highly recommended. The shop is on the second floor, and there's a photo booth downstairs, so you can go down and take pictures right after changing.

The staff were very accommodating and helped us choose our size and wear the hanbok. It rained that day and we weren't able to make our 9 am schedule. We asked the staff if we could go in the afternoon and they happily agreed. They do basic hairstyles, let you borrow hair accessories, head accessories, and a bag for free. They also keep your belongings safe, like big bags and clothes, while you are away. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended!! I recommend choosing the earliest schedule to have more colors to choose from. Also, in case of an unexpected delay like what happened to us, it would be better to contact them or drop by their location to inform them about the reschedule. They allow it but only within the day. We dropped by at 9 am (while it was raining) to ask for a reschedule at that time.

Pros: A good experience. As soon as they opened, there were many clothes to choose from. We happened to encounter Gyeongbokgung Palace being unexpectedly closed, and the staff reminded us and helped us change our reservation time, which was truly excellent! Changing clothes and styling hair was very quick. Most of the staff had a great attitude, greeting us and chatting. When we returned early due to the heat, they even showed concern. Cons: When the store first opened, the staff were busy with front desk reception and helping customers with sizes, so there weren't enough staff to assist with introductions, leaving us to choose on our own. Also, my attendant told me to take off my pants, but my daughter's attendant didn't mention it, so she didn't, which made her feel a bit too hot. Additionally, there were only two choices for hair braiding.

It was so dreamy to be a fan of Jewel in the Palace and be able to roam around Gyeongbokgung Palace wearing hanbok with my girlfriends. Seohwa is a good place to get your hanbok and has many choices to choose from. The staff are very accommodating and very helpful.

It was truly a wonderful experience. You should arrive early to choose the most satisfactory outfit. I will definitely rent again next time.

Buying on the platform is very convenient. The staff in the store all speak Chinese and will directly tell you what size to wear. We just need to go to the racks to pick colors and styles, then find a staff member to try them on! After trying them on, go to the hair braiding area to queue up, and the staff will directly help you tie your hair, which only takes a few minutes! Afterwards, just cross the road and you'll reach Gyeongbokgung Palace! It's super great!

It's recommended to choose the earliest session, as you'll have the widest selection of styles, and the waiting time for changing clothes and hair braiding will be shorter! There are staff members who speak Chinese, and the process is explained very clearly! The shop is near the subway station, and Gyeongbokgung Palace is just across the street, which is very convenient! The day we went was a holiday, and we booked the 9 AM session. We finished changing by 9:30 AM and slowly walked to watch the 10 AM changing of the guard ceremony.
