Experiência Tradicional de Reparo Kintsugi em Quioto

Had a fantastic experience with Natalia using the age old method of Kintsugi to repair a bowl of our choice into a new piece of art. my whole family loved it. including two teenage boys who are hard to entertain. lol One of my favourite cultural experiences here in Japan so far. highly recommend.

The overall class experience was excellent. The course location is in the city center, making transportation very convenient and easy for travelers to arrange. The course content was also very interesting; not only could I learn about the history of Kintsugi, but I also got to practically learn the process and techniques of repairing ceramics. I really enjoyed the interactive and creative aspects of the entire experience. Besides being able to interact with people from different countries who share an interest in traditional Japanese culture, I could also apply my own designs and creativity to a traditional craft. There were also many different plates and vessels to choose from on-site, allowing me to select my favorite piece to work on, which was fantastic. Overall, this was a very fulfilling, interesting, and memorable experiential course. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to delve deeper into traditional Japanese culture. I was running a little late but the team were very understanding and so helpful to get me started. Gakuji was absolutely a wonderful instructor for my group and guided us through all the processes and techniques. He was also very encouraging in exploring your own style. Overall the workshop studio is relaxing and has a nice atmosphere. Highly recommmend for a fun activity indoors and you leave with a beautiful piece for artwork. Thank you!!

I booked it for a friend visiting from Greece as a kind of welcome gift for visiting Kyoto. She seemed to enjoy it very much and was even able to write her name with the red lacquer (urushi) in Japanese katakana with a little help. Natalia, the instructor, did an excellent job of explaining everything clearly and guiding the large group I was with.

a great experience if you want a chill activity after a packed day. Our instructor, Alice H., gave very clear guidance throughout the art process which made the activity fun and memorable✨ would highly recommend ✨✨

A very nice experience, this Kintsugi repair workshop. Katie explained everything about this ancient technique to us. Her inspirations were very helpful. The only criticism is that the stated location does not match the actual location. This is apparently already known and has not yet been resolved. However, they were very friendly when we arrived 90 minutes late.

I had such a lovely morning attending this class. Cati was an excellent teacher and gave a background about the history of kintsugi that was super interesting. I highly recommend if you want a cozy crafting experience.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing Kintsugi workshop with our group of 9 friends. A special thank you to Tutor Thunder, who was incredibly friendly, patient, and knowledgeable throughout the session. She explained the history and philosophy of Kintsugi beautifully, making the experience both meaningful and enjoyable. Creating our own pieces while learning about this unique Japanese art was truly memorable. Highly recommended and definitely a must-try experience! 😊✨🙏
