Excursão de Caminhada na Antiga Estrada de Zhuilu, Parque Nacional de Taroko

Ah Min is an amazing guide, friendly and responsible. Takes very very good photos and is patient with those who are hiking a bit slower. I felt very safe and enjoyed the hike at every moment. Highly recommended. Will do this again if I’m ever back in Taiwan

The one-way trip is about 3.1 kilometers with an elevation gain of approximately 550 meters. The first 2.5 kilometers are entirely uphill, mostly consisting of stairs. After 2.5 kilometers, you reach the Zhuilu Old Trail, which is relatively flat. There are ropes along the cliff edge for support. It's actually not as scary as it looks in photos. The Zhuilu Old Trail Station offers a spacious resting area with shade from trees, allowing for a good rest before heading back.

The scenery is amazing and well worth the trip. Even without clear skies, the mist creates a wonderful atmosphere. It was reassuring to have a team lead the way for my first time. There were two guides, which made me feel very secure. When I was running out of energy early on, the guide was very kind and didn't rush me, constantly chatting to distract me. I finally made it to the beautiful scenery at the end, which was incredibly rewarding. However, the descent felt a bit rushed.

I took the train to Hualien, stayed one night, and the next day the hotel shuttle took us hiking. The tour guide was very enthusiastic, letting me use trekking poles and providing rice balls and biscuits to replenish energy. We rested whenever my legs got tired, and I took many beautiful photos. It was really great. After the hike, they drove us to the train station. We rented a scooter to eat Yuli stinky tofu, then went to Pacific Park to see the ocean. We returned to the train station to eat railway bento, then boarded the train to head home.

Highly recommend Coach Xiao Yu, he's sincere and responsible! I specifically went to challenge the Zhuilu Old Road and succeeded 🏆. He took great care in taking photos for us, and drove very steadily.

It was a perfect day, even though it was drizzling. The tour was very smooth, especially because we had awesome tour guides like Eric and his friends who led us to the trail. Unfortunately, we couldn't make it to the top due to a knee problem, so we decided to go back and let the other hikers continue their adventure. But the good thing was that Eric wouldn't let us just leave like that, so he took us to another trail that wasn't as steep but was still a beautiful place in Taroko. I still want to go back.

This activity offers hotel pick-up and drop-off in Hualien City, which is very convenient for tourists without their own transportation. Before departure, you can also stock up at a convenience store, so there's no need to worry about forgetting water or food. The scenery along the Zhuilu Old Trail is magnificent, and with the excellent weather on the day of the activity, every photo turned out beautifully. The guide and on-board leader provided historical explanations along the way, constantly monitored the team members' conditions, and even offered rice balls for energy at the turnaround point. Although the other group members were strangers, everyone was friendly and energetic, allowing us to make new friends and create more memories during the trip. It's highly recommended.
