Very fun sightseeing activity, though sightings are more likely to be dolphins than whales. Transfers are highly recommended (if not mandatory) unless you’re driving, as the location isn’t very accessible. There’s a 15 to 30 minute educational briefing on commonly seen whale and dolphin species at their visitor area before being driven to the dock. The boat is clean and well-maintained. I strongly recommend queuing early once you reach the dock to access the boat’s second floor, which offers clearer views and is less crowded (limited to 10 people). Time spent at sea depends on conditions and may be around 1 hour or less, which is understandable. Highly recommended!

An unexpected whale watching trip in the Pacific! A dedicated car will pick you up from the hotel at the appointed time in the morning, then you'll go to the ticket office for a brief introductory lecture, and then head to the pier to board the boat. The scenery is truly spectacular, and the tour guide on board will introduce knowledge about geographical locations, ocean currents, and marine species. Along the way, you can enjoy the beautiful Hualien coastal scenery, see flying fish leaping, and finally spot a group of spinner dolphins playing at noon. It was my first time getting up close to wild dolphins! The guide meticulously explained the dolphins' habits and behaviors, leading us to observe them. We recorded many moments with our phones and cameras! Safety measures were excellent; the guide reminded us to be mindful of our belongings and to hold on tight when taking photos! Overall, I was very satisfied, and I'll definitely come back for another Pacific trip if I get the chance!

The local volunteer did a great job introducing the diverse knowledge of whale species and what to expect during the ride. The seas were fairly rough with swells up to 2m, and many guests were throwing up even before the dolphins were spotted. I suggest not having a full breakfast or meal before the tour. The boat ride saw two sightings of dolphin families at close range. We are in awe of this experience, and we can see the commitment and care that these volunteers demonstrate towards these beautiful creatures. We are equally grateful for this opportunity.

glad that the driver recommended us some very effective motion sickness pills because the sea was quite rough that day. The view was beautiful and we got to see some dolphins. Sadly, we didnt manage to see any whales! The guide was very enthusiastic and very informative too. Her instructions were very clear.

Even though it's past season, we managed to see spinner dolphins. It was an amazing experience! Guide was very nice and even though the tour was technically in chinese, she translated a lot of parts to English so we could understand! Highly recommend!

The Kuroshio Ocean Education Foundation's guide displayed a gentle and calm demeanor, making the entire whale-watching experience richer and more meaningful. The guide introduced us to the species identification, behavior, and ecological characteristics of various dolphins with profound yet easy-to-understand knowledge and experience. The appearance of spinner dolphins fulfilled my expectations and left a deep impression! These amazing dolphins freely rolled and leaped across the water at astonishing speeds, showcasing unparalleled flexibility and grace. Whenever they weaved among the whale-watching boats, the entire crowd on board would exclaim in admiration, etching this moment forever in their minds. The appearance of spinner dolphins not only made the whale-watching activity more exciting but also left us with an unforgettable ecological feast.

El conductor vino a recogernos al hotel. Llegó a tiempo. Era un minibús de 10 plazas, muy cómodo. Aunque no conseguimos ver ballenas durante el tour, afortunadamente sí pudimos ver delfines.

The confirmation was immediate, and I received a WhatsApp message from the team. Although the trip was in Chinese, they did their best to translate into English for us. The language was not an issue at all. Our guide (I remember her name as Okra, I may be wrong) was very patient and calm. Since we only saw two dolphins in one spot, they took us to another spot to see more. It was our first time watching spinner dolphins, and we were excited. The agenda was on time 👍. The view was also amazing 🤩.

I booked a pick-up service, and the driver arrived at the hotel downstairs in advance. Upon arrival, he guided us to collect our boat tickets and then to a small classroom for a briefing. After the briefing, we set off. On the boat, the guide continuously provided information and taught everyone methods to alleviate seasickness. Seeing the dolphins was truly breathtaking; I was amazed by the wonders of nature. The dolphins swimming around the boat were incredibly impressive. The entire experience, from boarding to disembarking, was about 1.5 hours and well worth it.
