You can book the flag-raising ceremony yourself on WeChat, but I couldn't secure any slots, so I opted to pay $14 per person. I also added an extra $4 each for a driver pick-up for the three of us. The driver was 30 minutes late. The pick-up was at 2:30 AM! We met the guide at 3 AM to walk us to the security clearance point, which only opened at 4 AM. Then, there was more than a two-hour wait for the flag-raising at 6:24 AM, which itself only lasted about two minutes in total. Of course, the ceremony was grand, but I honestly wouldn't do this again, as waking up and waiting was torturous! Everyone was rushing and running to get to the front of the flag viewing spot. It was a big crowd, even though it was a normal weekday.

A trip to Beijing must include watching the flag-raising ceremony. Although we had to gather very early, around 3 AM, I chose a driver service. After arriving, we still had to wait another 2 hours for the flag-raising (according to the daily sunrise time).

I joined the package a few days ago. The information provided before the trip was clear, emphasizing the importance of minimizing belongings. At the meeting point, it was a bit chaotic, and I had to search for our guide, Wang. Also, an older woman persistently tried to sell me a stool, claiming she was staff and that buying it was mandatory. I initially refused and looked at the guide, Wang, but he just turned his head away, acting as if it was none of his business. The woman was satisfied after I paid 30 RMB. It wasn't a high price, but the stool was completely useless during the journey. Upon reaching the security check, the instructions were poorly communicated – we queued for about 20 minutes, and suddenly the counter closed, forcing the entire group to queue in another line again. During this time, there was no information or updates from our guide. We continued to queue… Frankly, the flag-raising event was quite grand, and the whole event took 2 minutes, which was quite nice… but you have to wait for 2 hours or more beforehand… and it's not recommended to go to the restroom as you might lose your spot (your standing space).
