Excursão de 2 dias de trem de alta velocidade para Jiuzhaigou e Huanglong saindo de Chengdu, Sichuan

Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong are beautiful, but the trip planning needs improvement. We weren’t warned that Jiuzhaigou Station is already 2,800m above sea level, enough to trigger altitude sickness. Worse, we were immediately taken to Huanglong at 3,500m without time to acclimatise. It would’ve made more sense to visit Jiuzhaigou (2,000m) first. The tour agency also messed up our hotel booking and we waited over 30 mins at the lobby after a long day. We arrived only at 9pm due to delays from late group members. Thankfully, Judy (liaison) responded promptly even at night, helped us liaise with the agency, and arranged a RMB90 rebate. She also reminded us to get cable car and shuttle tickets in advance, which saved us the effort of hiking at high altitude. Our driver, Luo Shi Fu, was very patient, stayed with us until the hotel issue was settled, and even shared local snacks and shopping tips the next day. Overall, great destination, but tour logistics and altitude advice need work.

Trip was well planned and overall was a pleasant journey. However high altitude and winding roads especially in the Huanglong area made the trip quite tough. Tour guide was helpful and took good care of the guests

The first glimpse of Five Flower Lake in Jiuzhaigou took my breath away with its stunning blue! The color, somewhere between peacock blue and emerald green, shimmered with a gradient luster under the sun, and the submerged deadwood was clearly visible, as if I had stepped into another world. Walking along the wooden boardwalk to Pearl Shoal, the waterfall cascaded over the calcified terraces, and the splashing water created miniature rainbows in the sunlight. The most astonishing was Long Lake, with snow-capped mountains reflected in its mirror-like surface, a captivating blue that made me unable to stop pressing the shutter!

I had a great time and it was a private trip so I could explore Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong Scenic Area at my own pace. I was a little nervous about communicating in China, but Ms. Lucy helped me a lot during my trip and Mr. Dorje was very friendly, making my trip smooth. Thank you!!! Overall, it's good, but there are a few things that need massive improvement: 1. The hotel isn't the best; the quality is mediocre. Even though there are facilities around, the room itself isn't good. 2. The itinerary is very rushed, so if you want to walk slowly and explore, you might not have the time for it. Nevertheless, the driver for the trip was great!

2-8 people small group, super flexible, no tour guide, more at ease! High-speed rail round trip + private car transfer, super worry-free, control your own itinerary, slowly take photos in Jiuzhaigou, leisurely stroll in Huanglong, suitable for those who don't like rushing their itinerary~

The freedom to enjoy food without the restrictions of group meals is fantastic! On the first night, we went to a hidden Tibetan restaurant that even navigation couldn't find, and we savored authentic yak meat hotpot and butter tea.

The Nuorilang Waterfall is magnificent, with water cascading down from a great height, creating a loud sound. Standing nearby, you can feel the cool mist on your face, which is very refreshing. The photos taken there are also beautiful, without needing to specifically find angles. Before departure, the staff sent detailed travel information and contact details via the KLOOK voucher, including high-speed train schedules and meeting points, so there was no need for repeated confirmation, which was very convenient.

The colorful forests of Jiuzhaigou are very special, with leaves of different colors—red, yellow, and green mixed together. Walking through them is like entering a colorful tunnel, with a different view at every step. Jiuzhaigou's altitude is between 2500-3100 meters. Following the recommendation to walk downhill from the higher altitude attractions, I didn't do any strenuous exercise, and the whole journey was very relaxed, with no signs of altitude sickness.

I was initially worried that not having a tour guide would be inconvenient, but it turned out to be even better! We could walk at our own pace, and when we got tired in Jiuzhaigou, we just sat on a wooden bench to rest, without having to force ourselves to keep up with a group. We controlled our own time, had lunch at the Nuorilang Center, and only chose a few essential scenic spots in the afternoon. In Huanglong, we took the cable car up and down the entire way, so my parents didn't feel tired at all. We stayed in a hotel close to the scenic area at night, allowing them to rest early. This flexible arrangement made the whole family's trip relaxed and enjoyable!
