The meeting point was stated as the station, but it didn't specify what to do at the station. I went to the ticket center and showed the QR code from my reservation, but in the end, they didn't scan the code; instead, they noted down the reservation number and manually issued the ticket for my assigned seat. The seats are four-person arrangements where two people face each other, but since it was empty that day, I was able to have a four-person seat all to myself. The scenery visible from the left and right sides, across the aisle, differs depending on the direction of travel. Of course, you have two chances, going and returning, but I recommend going on a less crowded day. The windows are small and designed so you can't lean out, so taking photos through the dirty windows is difficult due to light reflections and other factors. There's a break time where you can get off the train at HINDON station and the turnaround station, Pukerangi, allowing you to take photos leisurely there. Inside the train, I recommend enjoying the magnificent scenery with your own eyes rather than through a camera. My English isn't very good, and I only understood about 20-30% of the male guide's announcements on the train, but even so, I felt the timing of the guide was slightly off. I don't think the highlights change, so I believe it would be good to have brochures or guides available for foreigners. Especially since there were many Chinese visitors and a deep historical connection seemed apparent, English and Chinese alone would be good, and if possible, Japanese would also be appreciated. The weather was good, and the scenery was superb. Coffee and light snacks were also sold on the train, and it was worth spending five hours away from the city, gently swaying on the train. The small sports museum inside the station, which costs 6 dollars to enter, was also very impressive and recommended.
The Gorge train journey was beautiful, with stunning scenery and a real sense of nature and history throughout the trip.
A wonderful experience looking at the scenic view onboard a train with so much heritage and history.
A pesar del viento, fue un día estupendo, con paisajes magníficos y buenos comentarios. Había mucho que ver y el tren no estaba lleno, así que tuvimos mucho tiempo para movernos.

Dear Klook Customer Support, I am writing to ask for your help regarding my Taieri Gorge Railway booking. I intended to book the train for September 7, 2026, but I accidentally selected September 6, 2026 when making the reservation. Unfortunately, I realized the mistake only after the booking date had passed, and I was unable to use the ticket on September 6. I would sincerely appreciate it if you could kindly consider either: Providing a refund for the unused booking. I understand that this was my mistake when selecting the date, but I would be very grateful if you could make an exception and assist me with this request. Booking Reference: [HSY979632] Activity: Taieri Gorge Railway Name: Sam Dong Yoo Thank you very much for your kind understanding and assistance. Best regards, Samdong
It's just average, not very interesting, and the scenery is quite ordinary.
