You can write to inquire if there's a closer pick-up point, remembering to include the name and address of your accommodation. Upon boarding, you'll receive a snack bag. The first stop is the jet boat, which is an optional extra. Even if no one takes it, the tour departs around 10:30 AM for Castle Hill. You'll then be given a lunch bag (a sandwich and an apple). Some stops are just for a quick photo. You'll have an hour at Castle Hill, and then a choice of a 30-minute or 2-hour hike at Arthur's Pass. Those who choose the 30-minute walk will be taken to a nearby small town, which is the only place to buy food and drinks. When the time comes, the guide will take those who chose the 2-hour walk to the town. Finally, after dropping off those taking the train, the remaining people will go to the last stop, Cave Stream, after which you will be returned to your morning pick-up point.

Had a lovely day out with our guide John, who entertained us the whole way with his tales and humour. Do note that this is the version of the tour without the TranzAlpine railway, and they will combine both tour groups. You can still get on the train with their help, but it’s cheaper to just get the train package tour from the start. John helped to sort us out and the ride was definitely worth it!

We had a great time with this tour package. Castle Hill was my favourite. The landscape of New Zealand is just amazing.

As another review mentioned, I thought the speedboat was part of the itinerary, and the travel agency's email didn't state it was an optional extra, even reminding us to bring raincoats. Please clearly state on the itinerary that this is an optional activity. There were multiple photo stops throughout the day, and the included lunch was indeed good. The rocks at Castle Hill were interesting and unique, but the waterfall was too small. Our driver and guide, Joseph, was truly excellent. He went above and beyond to take care of every group member, taking photos for us. That day, many group members were originally taking the train back, but due to traffic congestion, Joseph had to drop off the group members not taking the train at the waterfall, then arrange for the other group members to take the train. He was constantly busy. He was witty, humorous, and his explanations were very clear.

Clive es un guía fantástico, se aseguró de que tuviéramos tiempo suficiente para explorar, descansar y tomar fotos en cada parada del camino. Nos dio comentarios muy informativos durante el viaje, e incluso nos guio y mostró el camino hacia el arroyo de la cueva. Gracias, Clive, por la amable hospitalidad y por siempre esforzarte al máximo para satisfacer las necesidades de los pasajeros. ¡Definitivamente reservaré otro viaje con Cheeky Kea la próxima vez que visite Nueva Zelanda!

It was a nice trip today, went through almost all attractions, except Arthur's Pass due to moderate rain at the time.

The guide is very good and experienced, he shared a lot of things with us and even brought us to a very local and authentic hotel for lunch

Although the weather was bad, the tour guide was excellent, and we still had a great time.
