Dingen om te doen in Gaomei Wetlands

We travel to different parts of the world every year, and Joseph Mao is the first tour guide we’ve had who prepared PowerPoint slides for the itinerary. It was such a thoughtful touch and made it really easy to follow the trip. He was friendly, down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and always willing to help take photos. He also shared great local tips about pineapple cakes and Sun Moon Lake cakes. Very patient and professional throughout the day. We really enjoyed having Joseph as our guide!

De gids is erg vriendelijk, hij is ook onze chauffeur. Onze reis is met een kleine groep van 8 personen. We hebben genoten van het landschap. De service van meneer Wilson is geweldig, hij stuurde ons informatie over de reis. Hij is altijd stipt.

Het was een leuke ervaring om in de natuur te zijn. We waren oorspronkelijk van plan om deze tour zelf te doen, maar gelukkig hebben we deze toch geboekt. Beide locaties lagen eigenlijk ver uit elkaar. Zo'n 2 uur reistijd. De transfer was comfortabel en we kregen voldoende tijd om de attractie te verkennen. Helaas was er geen zonsondergang tijdens onze reis.

Onze gids en chauffeur was erg gepassioneerd. De taalbarrière weerhield hem er niet van om een goede gids te zijn. Voorbeeld 1: op tijd tijdens het ophalen. Voorbeeld 2: tijdens de lunch, toen hij in een eetgelegenheid aan het eten was, vroeg hij ons toen hij ons zag of we wilden eten en hielp hij ons met bestellen. En tot slot deed hij moeite om zijn mobiel te gebruiken om te vertalen en met ons te communiceren. Hartelijk dank.

The day tour was wonderful. Our guide was incredibly kind and accompanied us throughout, and their driving was very comfortable. When it started raining towards the end of the trip, they lent us an umbrella and even gave us one when we parted ways. Even though they weren't a Korean guide, it wasn't inconvenient at all. Thanks to the guide's thoughtful and warm consideration, it was a great trip.

The meeting point was convenient, and our driver, Mr. Lai, arrived on time. Each of the four attractions had its own unique charm. The driver adjusted the time spent at each stop based on his experience and also provided relevant information. The National Taichung Theater has an elegant design with beautiful lines, and the ground floor features several exquisite gift shops where I found a pair of uniquely designed earrings. Rainbow Village was full of color and had a nostalgic feel, contrasting with the new buildings behind it. We arrived at Luce Memorial Chapel just as it opened, allowing us to go inside and look around. Gaomei Wetlands was the most anticipated stop; we were lucky to have great weather, and even with some clouds, we saw a complete sunset. It was incredibly windy, and wading in the water was wonderfully refreshing. I took over a hundred photos—it's definitely a place worth visiting in a lifetime. Feng Chia Night Market had so much delicious food at affordable prices; we ate until we were full, and the street-side seating had a great atmosphere. It was a fantastic half-day tour, starting at noon, which was perfect as it allowed us to sleep in for an extra two hours before exploring the night market.

We had a great time with Sophie as our tour guide. She spoke very well and explained each destination making the trip more interesting. Definitely recommend taking this trip if going to Taiwan for the first time.

Er was een probleem met de airconditioning van het busje toen we van het station werden opgehaald. Gelukkig zette de gids ons af in Miyahara om van auto te wisselen. De chauffeur/gids (meneer Wang) was erg vriendelijk en spreekt vloeiend Engels! Halverwege de tour werden we vergezeld door Japanse toeristen en de gids spreekt ook Japans! De zonsondergang bij Gaomei Wetland was prachtig! We hebben erg genoten van deze tour.
