JR Inn Asahikawa was perfect in my books. From the moment I checked in, I was warmly greeted by both the staff and the room itself. Look at my attached photo for the view I got. If you are driving, you can park for ¥800/night (as if end May 2025, at least) with repeated entries, if you need them. Point your GPS to the Aeon Mall carpark and follow the signs to JR Inn. There are an abundance of facilities: a public bath, a lounge with free flow coffee (espresso) and tea (bags), well-kept coin laundry machines, a corner where you can pick up an extra pillow of varying firmness. I only wished that there were more to do within walking distance around the hotel. That being said, the hotel is centrally located, so even if you are not self-driving, you will be able to hop on a bus or train to many destinations around the city.

The hotel is located conveniently opposite the JR station and bus terminal. Plenty of shopping and eateries around the hotel. Very clean and well-maintained room.

The hotel is near to many small restaurants and a short distance to the city centre. The hotel provides free-flow of coffee, free ramen for supper and free usage of the washer. Staff were helpful and polite.
