Things to do in Penghu Guanyin Temple

On Qimei Island, we chose to take the bus. It was a spacious, air-conditioned coach, which was very comfortable. We had 15-30 minutes at each scenic spot, which was plenty of time to take photos, and the tour was very efficient. The bus driver also acted as a tour guide, providing commentary while driving. Please note that this tour is not designed for foreigners and commentary is only provided in Chinese. As a Japanese speaker with only enough Chinese to understand meeting times, I was still able to participate in the tour without any issues. Seating on the ferry is open, and when traveling between islands, it's first-come, first-served again. Arriving earlier than the designated meeting time allows you to choose your preferred seat.

I originally thought we wouldn't see many beautiful sights in Hangwan, and figured it would be good enough if they offered snorkeling for the kids. However, our coach turned out to be a very knowledgeable and handsome young man. I told him he resembled Ah Cui from the Fubon Guardians. He provided a thorough explanation of the unique features of each scenic spot along the way. Furthermore, we discovered that Love Fun is genuinely dedicated to helping the government restore coral in the ocean, having successfully transplanted the Lavender Forest, which is typically only found on southern islands. Each segment truly made us appreciate Penghu's waters even more. Thank you to the coach for taking photos of our entire family throughout the trip.

The magnificent basalt columns were incredibly impressive, like works of art carved by nature. The guide's explanations were very detailed, helping us better understand Penghu's geological features. The island-hopping boat schedule was smooth, and they even provided drinks and simple snacks along the way. The service was truly thoughtful. The overall itinerary was comfortable and unhurried, perfect for couples, families, or friends. Sunshine, turquoise seas, cats, and volcanic landscapes – all in one trip! I highly recommend this tour to anyone planning to go island hopping in Penghu; it will definitely be one of the best memories of your trip. The meeting time was 20 minutes before departure, scheduled for 7:40 AM, but we actually departed at 8:00 AM because we were waiting for a group of tourists. There was a guide on the boat who stayed with us, for example, we'd agree on a time to follow her for a tour, and the service was pretty good. However, on the return trip, there was no commentary about the islands we cruised past! We had 1.5 hours at Dongji Island and 3 hours at Qimei (including self-arranged lunch), which was plenty of time! It was great—the whole island-hopping day trip wasn't expensive, highly recommended! 👍

Moon Bay diving really does have a purple lavender forest, but when I went on May 23rd, the water was still very cold, requiring a 3mm wetsuit. Without one, you could probably only stay in for about 30 minutes. Qimei has many attractions! You can spend a whole day enjoying water activities. The scooters are easy-to-ride gas-powered ones.

Everything was very pleasant. Although we originally booked for 7:40 PM, they called us in advance to ask if we wanted to move the time up because there weren't enough people. We agreed, and actually, watching the sunset at 6:30 PM was perfect. We also enjoyed a relaxing evening of squid fishing. The crew members were all very polite and always smiling. My children were more interested in the video games, but at least it offered another option. The boat was really new, beautiful, and very clean. The squid noodles had just the right amount of salt and were delicious, and there were also jelly and brown sugar cakes. All the passengers were quite well-behaved and not noisy, creating a very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, which we were very lucky to experience. Also, each fishing rod was prepared for us, and they looked very neat, which was nice. Even though no one on the boat caught any squid, the sea breeze was very pleasant, and it wasn't too hot. With the gentle sunset, I think this experience was truly wonderful.

Experience: The sunrise is incredibly moving, watching the sun emerge from the horizon. Because sunrise tours require an early start, there are usually fewer people, and the instructors often take the opportunity to capture many beautiful photos. Safety: The waters around Suogang are actually quite safe. Under the guidance of an instructor and with the protection of a life vest, it's quite easy to get back on the board if you accidentally fall into the water (the instructor will also help you get back on).
