Things to do in Great Wall of China

Booking this Mutianyu Great Wall package was incredibly smooth and hassle-free from start to finish. I loved having the entrance ticket, shuttle bus, and chairlift all combined into one simple booking. ​When I arrived at the scenic area, scanning my mobile voucher was quick and easy. I was able to bypass the long ticket queues completely. The shuttle bus pick-up point was simple to find, and hopping straight onto the chairlift saved so much time and leg energy for hiking the wall itself. ​The whole process was crystal clear, well-organized, and very easy to navigate even on my first visit. It made my entire day completely stress-free.

Great experience today on our trip to the Great Wall! Michael was a good guide and the cooler weather combined with clear skies were amazing! definitely do the cableway up and tabogan down if you can handle the walking and climbing.

Visiting the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall of China was an unforgettable experience! The views of the Great Wall stretching across the mountains are absolutely breathtaking. It is amazing to walk along this historic landmark and appreciate the incredible architecture and rich history behind it. The surrounding mountain scenery makes the experience even more spectacular and offers plenty of opportunities for beautiful photos. The cable car ride is a convenient option for reaching the wall, especially if you want to save energy for exploring. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as there are plenty of steps and uphill sections

Our tour guide, Mr. Liu, was enthusiastic, friendly, and attentive, taking excellent care of both adults and children. The itinerary was well-planned, allowing us to comfortably explore various parts of Beijing. We hope to visit Beijing again in the future. Thank you very much.

Yuly was an amazing guide. tour was well organised, helped us book additional activities and was very clear on instruction for all guests to understand. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and Yuly did a great job keeping everyone together and explaining key parts of the Forbidden City’s history. I would have preferred less time there and more time at the Great Wall. The itinerary could be more transparent. I didn’t expect to take a public bus after the Forbidden City to reach another bus, or to pick up more passengers along the way. The Great Wall extras were also confusing. On the bus, we were asked which sides we wanted to visit and charged 280 RMB for cable car/toboggan tickets. It felt like these were compulsory, although they are optional and cheaper options are available on site. This should be explained clearly before payment. That said, the cable cars and toboggan were amazing and so much fun! I don’t regret the experience or extra money spent. I’m grateful for the guidance and knowledge I gained, although I now feel confident I could organise it myself next time and spend more time exploring the Great Wall at my own pace!

This was an amazing tour with so many interesting sights seen. Helen made it so memorable with her great story telling and jokes, she also assisted us in getting into the areas faster than everyone else which was a huge plus. It is great value for money too as everything is included, all you do is pay and rock up and you’re set. Cold water is provided and the pace can be either fast or slow depending on what you like. Helen gave us the option to stop and take photos or go to the next spot which i really appreciated as i don’t like to waffle around. 100% recommend to anyone visiting beijing

Our tour guide Michael was very accommodating and knowledgeable! The Mutianyu Great Wall is well worth the visit! Our family took both the cable car round trip and the chair lift and toboggan to see different stations. What a wonderful experience!

We had an absolutely incredible experience yesterday visiting the Mutianyu Great Wall and the Ming Tombs! This tour is a solid 5 out of 5 stars. ​Our guide was phenomenal, with an outstanding knowledge of local history (and so much more!). He was extremely polite, patient, and always went above and beyond to answer all of our questions down to the smallest detail. Everything was perfectly organized as a complete package, meaning we didn't have to worry about a thing and managed to avoid all the long queues and hassle. ​Our driver was also wonderful—even though he didn't speak English, he was incredibly friendly and had a warm smile on his face the whole day. The car was spotless, comfortable, and came fully stocked with ice-cold water and plenty of delicious snacks for us to enjoy during the ride. ​We will definitely be recommending this tour to all of our friends and family who are planning to visit Beijing soon.
