Fantastic 5.0
Paul was alovely instructor and very knowledgable about Melbourne! Despite the slight wind, it was made clear that we were very safe, and the kayaks were stable for two begginers. We also weren't very fatigued by the end, as there was plenty of time to rest and enjoy the scenery! The food options were great and we loved chatting with other participants.

I really enjoyed the city sightseeing kayak tour. First time doing it and the guide was very helpful. No needed workout for the day as it serves as the arm and back workout already 😂

Fantastic 5.0
Arrived the area at 9.47am and there was no one around so I was quite stressed about not getting the correct pick up location. It would be good if the email could include a picture of the pick up point. Other than that, best tour I had so far. Ride on the train was okay. Good to experience as a first time tourist in Australia, especially since our country does not have operating steam trains. Wish we had more time at the gift shop at Puffing Billy. It started raining on our way to Philip Island. It was very very cold so my mom and I left the viewing area very quickly after spotting some penguins. Video and photography is not allowed. Neither are umbrellas or standing up. They are quite strict on that so that we do not startle the penguins in their habitat. Our guide Simon was the best. Kept us all entertained and interacted with us, making sure everyone was alright.

What to know before visiting Melbourne

What to do in Melbourne year-round

Melbourne’s top activities on Klook are led by Tours, followed by Zoos & aquariums, Museums and Outdoor & sports activities, with Historical sites also popular across the year. Demand follows a clear rhythm: November is the busiest month while March is noticeably quieter, and Klook booking data shows a steady spread of visitors through spring and summer. Use those peaks and troughs to decide whether you want lively city energy or calmer galleries and parks — choose peak-season atmosphere or quieter months depending on your priorities. All observations are drawn from Klook booking data.

Best time to visit and price trends

November and December register the strongest demand, while March is the quietest month; Klook booking data highlights November as the month with the largest uplift and March as the trough. Prices drift through the year with a low around October–November and a high in March: the price series shows the median paid on Klook rising to its priciest in March and falling to its cheapest in October. That means October–November is a sweet spot for lower typical prices without the absolute lowest crowds, whereas November–December brings the liveliest atmosphere despite slightly higher demand.

Where to stay: neighbourhood price guide

Hotel prices on Klook vary across districts: North Melbourne is the most affordable with a typical nightly rate of USD 86, while East Melbourne sits at the priciest end with a typical nightly rate of USD 222, a gap of roughly 61% between them according to Klook booking data. Cheaper districts tend to suit travellers prioritizing budget and flexibility, such as those who book last-minute or prefer more affordable options; priciest districts tend to suit travellers seeking a more premium stay and are comfortable paying extra for a central or upscale hotel experience. These figures reflect Klook booking data for typical nightly rates.

Tips for travellers from the United States

Most US travellers book fairly close to arrival — on Klook, the typical booking time is about 1 day ahead, while the earliest planners book around 5 days out. That means you can be flexible and often secure activities a day or two before travel, but consider booking earlier for November–December when demand rises. Use Klook to lock in preferred time slots and tickets for popular experiences; past Klook booking data shows when demand peaks, so booking a few days ahead in peak months helps ensure availability and smoother planning.
