The JR Kansai Wide Area Pass for five days is very convenient. You can even take the Shinkansen from Osaka to Okayama. It's even more cost-effective when paired with local sightseeing passes. This time, I chose discounts for three facilities in Tottori. The Sand Dune Museum is a must-visit attraction, and the scenery along the Uradome Coast by boat is beautiful (though it was cloudy that day, so the water wasn't as vibrant). For my last stop, I dined at Kan-ichi in Kami Town. The food was surprisingly delicious, and the prices were reasonable with a great atmosphere. Even on a weekday, there were many customers, so a bit of a wait was necessary.

If you plan to explore the Northern Kansai region, this pass is a must-buy, as it covers all reserved seats without any additional charges. We used this single pass for our trips to Maizuru, Amanohashidate, Fukuchiyama, Yumura Onsen, Kinosaki Onsen, and Kobe before returning to Osaka! If you have enough stamina, this is definitely an excellent choice for a San'in-Sanyo trip, as you can reserve seats an unlimited number of times (the machine can only reserve same-day seats and only 6 times). Therefore, it is recommended to plan your travel itinerary and have the service center staff assist you with booking all transportation for the current day and beyond, which will save a lot of time. 3. APA Hotel is always a safe bet. Here in Tottori, there are also connecting rooms available, but be careful not to book the wrong one as there are only two. However, the area around Tottori Station is a bit desolate, and at night, the only place to shop is the AEON (which is a smaller branch).

The location is super convenient! It's right across from the bus terminal, and department stores are next door. The train station is only a 2-minute walk away, and the lobby offers free lockers. For international travelers using the self-check-in machine, avoid selecting Japanese. The machine will repeatedly ask for a Japanese address. Staff at the counter can assist, but typing your own address into the machine takes a long time. You can take breakfast back to your room. Highly recommended for travelers visiting Tottori.
