It’s a day trip to Amanohashidate and ine funaya! i would say this trip package is perfect for a day trip as it included all the tourist attractions. Our tourist guide, Mr Lee is very helpful, informative and friendly. And we had a very wonderful experience 😍 so, anyone who looking for the chairlift ride, you can purchase the package tht include amanohashidate cable car & sightseeing boat.

Fantastic 5.0
The views and places were amazing, so much cultural significance in these temples, shrines and experiences. Also a HUGE thanks to Samuel for guiding this tour, talking about all these different things and switching languages to help with the guiding and the tour. He was very knowledgeable and fun. Amazing experience with the family.

The staff were super friendly and could communicate fluently in Japanese, Chinese, and English, which made everything so easy. They have hairstyles for both short and long hair, tons of kimono options in all sizes, from petite to plus size, and SO many cute accessories to choose from! If you’re planning to visit Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto, this shop is super conveniently located right near the entrance path. They also offer makeup services! I didn’t get my makeup done, but I saw other customers’ looks and they were GORGEOUS!! very flattering for Asian features. The kimonos range from bright, vibrant colors to elegant lace and ruffle designs. And the hair accessories? SO MANY options!! It’s even more fun when you dress up with your besties or match with your partner. Everyone looks at you so fondly when you walk around in a kimono, so don’t be surprised if people ask to take photos with you or stop to chat! If you’re in Kyoto, THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO DO IT WITH YOUR GIRLIES!!

Fantastic 5.0
My wife and I booked the kimono rental here today. There was a large and beautiful selection of various kimonos. Although it was quite crowded, everything worked out in the end, and everyone was very friendly. However, choosing and getting dressed took a little longer than originally expected. We were also completely satisfied with the selection of kimonos, including the accessories. My wife's hair turned out very nicely as well. Afterwards, we had also booked a photoshoot, which was very satisfactory. Our photographer Momo was great, too. Thanks again for everything!

Fantastic 5.0
We had such an amazing experience during our Kyoto photoshoot. From the beginning, Mr. Kai made us feel comfortable and guided us naturally through every pose, which helped us enjoy the moment instead of worrying about the camera. The photos turned out absolutely beautiful — every shot captured the atmosphere of Kyoto, the details of our outfits, and the emotions of the day perfectly.

Incredibly immersive exhibits and really cool to be a part of the art. My favourite was the interactive sport exhibits. Very well organized and easy to navigate. It is crowded but not overwhelmingly so. There may be some lines.

Fantastic 5.0
A peaceful and entertaining boat ride through the river. I felt safe 100% of the time and the boatmen were funny and entertaining. safety: 100% - everyone wears life vests experience: scenic view of beautiful nature, lush green forests everywhere (would be amazing during Sakura season and later in October/November when the trees change colors) with some fast moments on the river instructor: proficient in English, absolute charming and knowledgeable about the area. also: super funny - everyone was laughing location:the ride ends near entrance of Arashiama Bamboo forest

What to know before visiting Kyoto

What to expect in Kyoto

This catalogue is led by Tours, then Cultural experiences, Museums, Observation decks and Zoos & aquariums, so you’ll find everything from higher-cost guided trips to very affordable cultural and museum options. That spread means Kyoto suits travellers who want either a full guided itinerary or budget-friendly standalone experiences. Demand peaks in March and is quietest in July, so availability for popular dates tightens around March while July is the slowest month for bookings.

How to choose what to book

The main choice is whether you want a guided, packaged itinerary or independent cultural activities — decide if you prefer guided Tours or flexible cultural experiences. Tours sit at the upper end of the typical bands with a typical price of USD 46, while Cultural experiences offer the widest range with entry-level options around USD 18 and upper-end options around USD 48, so they can suit either budget or splurge travellers depending on the selection.

If you need simple, low-cost sightseeing to fill gaps, Observation decks are the most affordable way in with a typical price of USD 6 and little variation, so shopping around gains little. Museums and Zoos & aquariums sit in the mid-range where what’s included varies most — Museums at a typical USD 29 and Zoos & aquariums at a typical USD 16 — making them reliable picks for steady budgets.

When travellers from the United States book

Most travellers book about 7 days ahead, while the earliest planners book around 26 days out. Plan on booking one to four weeks ahead if you want more choice, and that cushion matters most for travel in March when demand peaks.

How prices compare across categories

The table below shows how Kyoto’s top activity categories compare on price so you can place a budget before choosing.

Category Typical Price Usual Range
Tours USD 46 USD 36 – 55
Cultural experiences USD 27 USD 18 – 48
Museums USD 29 USD 26 – 33
Observation decks USD 6 USD 5 – 6
Zoos & aquariums USD 16 USD 15 – 16

Typical price is the median paid on Klook; the usual range covers the middle half of bookings, so cheaper and pricier options exist outside it; prices are shown with their currency code. Based on Klook booking data, August 2025 – July 2026.
