Its name is “Sawyer,” the café’s robot barista that has one job: to make and to serve freshly-brewed coffee. 5. Pepper PARLOR

Powered by not just one but four robots by SoftBank Robotics, Pepper PARLOR is nestled at the bustling Tokyo Plaza Shibuya. The name of the café was derived not from the spices but from their semi-humanoid robot “Pepper.” The multilingual robot serves as the waiter, while Nao robots entertain customers with their dance moves. Machine-like Servi and Whiz are the ones tasked for delivering the orders and cleaning the café.

Operating for more than three decades now says a lot for another kaitan sushi restaurant in this list: Akindo Sushiro. Their best-tasting tempura, ramen, udon noodle, and other dishes are being served to customers not by the human waiters or futuristic robots but through a conveyor belt. Being one of the firsts to introduce this concept, Akindo Sushiro is the most famous of its kind in the entire Japan.
