When exchanging a pass at New Chitose Airport, you can take a ride from the airport to Sapporo and continue to Asahikawa city. There is a bus that goes to Asahidate volcano. Take the train to Furano and see the flower gardens and return to downtown Sapporo. There are many places that I haven't been to, such as Otaru and Biei.

Just back from my Hokkaido trip, needless to say it was superb! what made the trip 10x better is this JR pass which made traveling in within the sapporo-furano area hassle free! I wish JR offers 5 days pass one day! can't wait to get back to Hokkaido in the foreseeable future 🌽🧡

This JR Hokkaido Pass is very practical and cost efficient. It is highly recommended for tourists travelling the Sapporo-Furano. We've travelled conveniently by trains and visited a lot of tourist spots with it for the four days that we are at Hokkaido. It is a must-buy for foreign tourists traveling the area.

We booked ours before boarding our flight to Sapporo. We had voucher for redemption ready within minutes and redeemed it upon landing at the JR customer service desk at the airport station and used it right away to get to the city itself. It is also cheaper buy it here as purchase is considered to be from outside of Japan and you get ¥5000 discount because of that. If you plan on venturing outside of Sapporo at least once it will probably pay for itself right there, plus transportation to and from the airport.

Value for money, easy to redeem at the JR Customer Service Counter for Foreigners at New Chitose Airport. The staff there are ready to check your onward train schedule and print out the checked schedule for your handy reference.

Worth getting this. We stay over at Biei, and make daily trips to Asahikawa for food., love the chill and peaceful. Furano was pretty and had lots of flowers. We also use it to cover the zoo.

Very good deal. Easy to redeem and use. Only minus is no reserved seats. So do get to the station earlier to get seats. The trains smaller than Tokyo ones so u gotta keep luggage next to you.
