Reviews
Since agriculture is well-developed in Hokkaido, I wanted to visit a quiet rural area rather than a big city like Sapporo. We gathered in front of Exit 31 of Odori Station at 7:35 AM, departed for Sapporo Station around 7:50 AM, and returned to Odori Station at 6:00 PM after the tour. We were lucky to have two handsome young male guides who translated everything once in English and again in Korean, so we unintentionally got some English practice. We heard explanations about Patchwork Road while driving, without getting off the bus. Shikisai-no-Oka (Shikisai Hill) is a beautifully maintained, vast flower garden where photos turn out fantastically. You don't necessarily need to ride the sightseeing train connected to a tractor; you can enjoy the wonderful scenery by walking. The highlight was the white corn eaten raw and the yellow corn eaten steamed. Perhaps because the latitude is similar to Minnesota in the United States, the taste was similar to Minnesota corn, but honestly, Hokkaido corn had larger kernels and more moisture, making it crunchier and more delicious. Eating white corn raw was truly an amazing experience. And the potato croquettes were the best I've ever had. Aoiike, also known as the Blue Pond, was a fantasy in itself. The dreamily blue water color is surprisingly due to the sulfur content in the nearby hot spring water. You must take a commemorative photo with blue ice cream! Shirogane Falls, just a 5-minute walk away, also exceeded expectations. Listening to the sound of the waterfall captured in the video made me feel refreshed. We had lunch on the second floor of the Furano rest stop, and the beef bowl was delicious. It was great to be able to try sample products directly at the lavender product store on the first floor. The last place we visited was Farm Tomita. This farm also has a Shikisai flower garden, and it would be wonderful to visit in June or July when the lavender is in full bloom. Unfortunately, when I visited in August, the lavender had already been harvested. However, the cheesecake made with Hokkaido milk at the cafe there was incredibly soft with a rich cheese flavor – truly my favorite ever. You definitely won't regret it. Even my picky older sister raved about it.
I traveled alone and visited other places without issue, but I was worried about getting around Biei and Furano. Then I found this tour, and since it had a Korean-speaking guide, a well-planned itinerary, and good reviews, I decided to book it! First off, both guides, Andy and Jun, were excellent at explaining things, gave great recommendations, and led us kindly. I especially appreciated Jun, the Korean-speaking guide, who consistently looked after me and chatted with me. :) I also love taking photos, and with the great weather, all my pictures turned out wonderfully. It was such a happy tour! I plan to visit again in winter and will definitely use this tour service again, haha.
This was an amazing experience! Lucy was a great tour guide- punctual, organized, knowledgeable, and friendly. She broke down our itinerary in a step by step fashion and highlighted must-try items along the way. We had plenty of time to explore, take in views, and souvenir shop without feeling rushed. The flower fields were in full bloom in August and we got to sample fresh melon & fresh white corn, as well as melon, lavender, and milk soft serve flavors. If Lucy is your tour guide you’ll be in great hands and will be sure to have a magical trip!
This 1-day tour from Sapporo covered most attractions in the Furano area. From views of the Patchwork Road, to the vast flower farms of Shikisai-no-Oka, onto the tranquil Shirogane Blue Pond, then go on the overhead bridge to view the Shirahige Waterfall. Lunch was at a restaurant at Furano, which was crowded as many tour groups were also there having their lunch. The last venue was Farm Tomita. It was peak lavendar season and you can smell the scent of lavendar flowers as you walk past them. The lavendar and melon soft cream was nice and a must-try. The tour guide Mr Hikaru was jovail and he made the whole bus journey fun and relaxing. We reached back Sapporo central bus station around 7pm, in time for dinner.
Affordable and convenient way to visit Biei and Furano attraction for a day. Tour guide James and driver are excellent in their job. Beside sharing various attraction information and shopping tips, James even went the extra mile in helping us order our lunch in advance and ensuring everyone received their lunch order at the restaurant. Highly recommended tour!!!
Our tour guide James was wonderful, and it was so impressive to hear him say everything in three languages. He ran everything really well and had shared a lot about the places we visited. I got to feed the alpacas at Shikisai no oka which was an absolute highlight. The colourful flower fields were just beginning to bloom so it wasn't as colourful as it could have been, but I didn't mind and the fields and countryside were still breathtaking. The lavender at Tomita farm was gorgeous, just an absolute sea of it! And the lavender ice cream there was the best ice cream I've ever had. Overall it was a great trip and great value for the cost. It was hard not to feel a little rushed at times, but that's pretty much unavoidable to see everything in a day, and it was so much more convenient than having to figure out public transit.
Such an amazing tour with Sunny who took care of us right from the start, having a fair seating arrangement plan. We also avoided massive tour crowds at each stop with his planning and got great shots of lavender at each location. Would def rec going on Sunny's tour group again!
It may not be flower seasons (in full bloom) yet but the experience is still amazing and so memorable! Beautiful fields, blue pond, and mesmerizing waterfalls. Feels like being transported in movie scenes. The lavender farm in Tomita is such a highlight too. As a lavender fan, I really enjoyed seeing the garden and tasting the ice cream! So creamy and good. Loved the lavender oils and body lotion too. Our guide Kevin was very kind and knowledgable. Highly recommending this tour!
We had an unforgettable winter day trip in Hokkaido filled with magical moments and adventure. Our day started at Asahiyama Zoo in Asahikawa, where we watched the famous penguin walk. Seeing the penguins waddle right past us in the snow was such a heartwarming and unique experience. The snowy setting made it even more special. Next was snowmobiling, which was an absolute highlight. Riding across wide, snow-covered fields surrounded by stunning winter scenery was both thrilling and breathtaking. It was the perfect mix of fun and beautiful views. We then visited Furano to see the iconic Christmas tree standing alone in a white field. Its simplicity against the snow made it peaceful and picture perfect. Our final stop was Ningle Terrace, which felt like stepping into a fairytale. The glowing wooden cottages and snowy paths created such a cozy atmosphere. A big thank you to our guide, Serina, who was friendly, organised, and made the whole day smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Overall, it was a good experience! Bit sad that the flowers were not in bloom but seeing a lot of greenery was a vibe in itself. The food at Herb Garden was a bit mid and overpriced compared to some local eats within Sapporo but recommend the Lavender ice cream! Kevin was a wonderful guide who kindly explained the background behind each destination we went to. I wish we had more time at Farm Toyota so that we could explore the melon factory but still at least we could fit in a lot of places in one day!!
