Reviews
This trip's itinerary is: Day 1: Narita Airport to Tokyo Station via Narita Express (N'EX), then transfer to the Shinkansen to Yamagata Station. Day 2: Yamagata → Shinjo → Oishida → Yamagata. Originally planned to take a boat tour on the Mogami River, but due to heavy snow, we turned back and went to Ginzan Onsen. Day 3: Took the cable car to Zao in the morning, then took the Shinkansen in the afternoon from Yamagata → Fukushima → Sendai → Tazawako. Day 4: Rode the Tazawako Lake Loop Bus, then took the train from Tazawako → Morioka → Shin-Aomori (Shin-Aomori → Aomori section of the JR line was suspended due to heavy snow, so we took a bus into the city). Day 5: Sightseeing in Aomori city. Shin-Aomori → Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto → Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto → Hakodate (JR Pass, Hakodate Liner is also usable!). Took the cable car up Mount Hakodate to see the night view. Day 6: Strolled around Hakodate city. Hakodate → Toya (Hokuto Limited Express) → Toya Ekimae → Lake Toya Onsen (bus). Enjoyed the Lake Toya Winter Festival Illumination and Musical Fireworks at night, it was incredibly beautiful.
Picking up the exchange voucher at Hong Kong Airport was convenient and quick. After arriving in Japan, exchanging the Pass at Narita Airport was a smooth process. Traveling from Morioka to Hakodate to chase the cherry blossoms was absolutely worth it!
Airport pickup is very convenient and easy. Just present your passport. Once you arrive in Japan, pick up your ticket from the JR station staff as indicated. The 6-day pass is a great value for travel.
A powerful pass that allows you to travel around a vast area from Hokkaido and Tohoku to Tokyo, with unlimited rides on JR and Shinkansen within the area, quickly completing a wide range of area movements, which is very cost-effective.
pass voucher was mailed to me via DHL 👍🏻. easy exchange of voucher to actual pass at the airport. Booked all the Shinkansen tickets with ease at the airport. Pass was easy to use. wanted to go to Aomori and Hokkaido with the pass but met the mag 7.5 earthquake near the Aomori & Hakodate on the 1 night when I started my trip. so I changed my route to Fukushima and Yamagata. Ticket office allowed my full Shinkansen tickets change. will try again with this pass in my nxt Japan trip.
This convenient ticket allows you to use the Shinkansen for intercity travel to Tohoku and Hokkaido during its validity period. However, most Tohoku Shinkansen trains have reserved seating only. If your trip coincides with a Japanese holiday, reserved seats might be fully booked if you wait until you arrive in Japan to make reservations. We recommend reserving your seats in advance on the JR East website, then picking up your reserved seat tickets when you exchange your JR Pass.
Paper vouchers take about four days to mail (they even ship on lucky holidays)! Exchange for physical tickets at Sapporo Station, the station staff are helpful, and the exchange is quick! A super convenient and worthwhile pass that allowed us to travel all the way from Sapporo, Hakodate, Aomori, Morioka, and Sendai, back to Tokyo!
The best choice for traveling to Tohoku and Tokyo, Japan! The JR Shinkansen allows you to ride as much as you like within your specified travel time, and free seat reservations mean you don't have to worry about not having a seat. You can also use regular JR trains, which saves a lot on transportation costs! Highly recommended!
VERY GOOD DEAL PACKAGE. I SPEND SIX DAYS COMMUNTE FROM HAKODATE TO NARITA AIRPORT STOPPED BY AOMORI, MORIOKA, AKITA, SENDAI FOR DAY TRIP. GOOD EXPERIENCE.
It's very easy to use. The documents were delivered to my home very quickly. I was able to exchange the documents at the train station. I was able to reserve seats in advance via the JR East website, which was very convenient. I didn't have to reserve space for my large bag because there was space at the front and back of the train. Very convenient.
