What to expect
Take the worry out of transportation on your Xiaoliuqiu trip! Easily book ferry tickets and electric scooter rentals on the island through Klook to save money and effort! Take a Xiaoliuqiu ferry from Donggang and enjoy the charming sea views of southern Taiwan. After arriving at Liuqiu Island, head to a local motorcycle rental shop to rent an electric scooter or e-bike and freely explore the island's attractions. This transportation package, which includes both sea and land transportation, saves you energy and effort, allowing you to fully enjoy your Xiaoliuqiu trip!

- Full Price: Children 12 years and older are the same price as adults.
- Half-price ticket: Children aged 3-11, seniors aged 65 and above (ID required)
- Insurance tickets: Insurance tickets for children under 3 years old and infants must be purchased at the on-site counter to process boat insurance.

Additional information
- Specific boat times cannot be reserved, and seating is unassigned. All seating is open, so please line up on-site to board in order. Each boat can carry a maximum of 192 passengers.
- Please use the return ferry within 7 days of using the outbound ferry. If the date is exceeded, please purchase a one-way ticket on-site.
- Please note that one child seat is equivalent to one passenger
- Please bring your ID card or National Health Insurance card to fill out the insurance information on-site.
- Wheelchair accessible on board.
- Additional ferry services to Xiaoliuqiu will be added irregularly during peak season and crowded periods. Please refer to on-site announcements for the schedule.
- Pets, compressed gases, explosives, flammable items, radioactive materials, corrosive substances, toxic or infectious substances, and dangerous or sharp objects are strictly prohibited on board.
- In the event of unforeseen circumstances (e.g., inclement weather), the supplier will cancel the Liuqiu Island ferry tickets and arrange for rescheduling or a full refund.
- The ferry ticket includes insurance, so please be sure to accurately fill in your personal information on the payment page. The supplier is not responsible for any loss of passenger rights due to inaccurate information.
- Please note: The supplier does not accept International Driving Permits issued by Thailand, South Korea, or China.
- It is recommended to take motion sickness medication in advance to prevent seasickness.
- Please wear a mask at all times. Eating and drinking are prohibited on board. Please refrain from close-range conversations.
Important Notes:
Shuttle Service Information
- The minimum number of passengers for a shared ride is 4. If the minimum number is not met by the day before departure, you will be notified to change the ride or cancel the order.
- This is a shared ride service. To protect the rights of other passengers, please arrive at the meeting point 10-15 minutes before the scheduled time. Late arrivals will not be accommodated; no order modifications, cancellations, or refunds will be granted due to tardiness.
- This is a shared ride service, and you will be sharing a vehicle with other passengers. Actual shuttle arrangements will depend on the situation at the time, and there may be a 10-15 minute waiting period.
- Shared shuttle vehicles travel between Kaohsiung City and Donggang area. Delays may occur due to traffic or other unforeseen circumstances. Dispatchers will contact you immediately to notify you of any delays. Please ensure your mobile phone is reachable.
- Due to the many uncertainties involved in shared shuttle services, it is recommended to allow 1.5-2 hours for each one-way trip.
- The service provider will arrange and adjust vehicle pick-up times based on passenger pick-up locations and traffic conditions. Passengers will be notified of their ride information via SMS or email before 22:00 (Taiwan time) the day before the scheduled ride date. Passengers who provide a Taiwan mobile phone number on the payment page will be notified via SMS, while those who provide a foreign mobile phone number will be notified via email or instant messaging software. If you do not receive your ride information, please email service@routortravel.com for assistance from our night-time customer service staff.
- If any of the following apply, it is recommended to book a private charter: 1. You wish to specify a pick-up time and location. 2. You have a large number of luggage items or are traveling with pets.
Luggage Restrictions
- Standard luggage size: 61 cm. Larger luggage will be counted as 2 pieces. If the number of passengers or luggage items exceeds the vehicle’s capacity, the driver has the right to refuse service, and no refund will be given.
- Standard luggage size: 76 cm x 51 cm x 32 cm. Larger luggage will be counted as 2 pieces. We cannot accommodate pets, ski equipment, surfboards, wheelchairs, golf equipment, or other large items.
- Shared ride option: Each person may bring a maximum of 1 piece of 26-inch luggage (infants and children may also bring 1 piece).
Car Seats
- According to Taiwan law, children aged 0-4 years traveling in "cars with 9 seats or less" must use a qualified child safety seat appropriate for their age and size. "Buses with 10 seats or more" are exempt. If you are traveling with children aged 0-4 years, please reserve a child safety seat in advance. The supplier will provide it according to the vehicle assigned that day.

• 3/24 Departed from Tainan early in the morning, first went to Kaohsiung to meet up with colleagues, and after enjoying rice soup and meat cake breakfast at Donggang, went to the ferry at 10:00 to catch the 10:30 scheduled ferry and arrived at Xiaoliuqiu before 11:30. • Upon arrival, the first stop is for lunch at the Paine Service Shop “Peng Fa Hao” where we enjoy small rolled rice noodles, and then we rent a motorcycle before 13:00 to start exploring the island. • Check in to Lunkuo B&B first. Fortunately, the room is ready. After a short rest, start the motorcycle tour of the western half of the attractions at 14:00, visiting the Vase Rock Beach, Beauty Cave, Shanfu Ecological Corridor, Clam Bay, Black Ghost Cave and White Lighthouse Sunset Pavilion in order to watch the sunset. • At 18:00, we will have dinner at a seafood hotpot restaurant on the way back to the B&B. At 19:00, we will take a 1-hour night tour (150 yuan per person). After that, we will buy braised food near the pier and gather in the B&B garden. We will return to our rooms to rest at around 23:30. • Wake up at 07:00 the next day, enjoy breakfast at the B&B at 08:00 (although it lacks Chinese porridge), start exploring the attractions on the Right Peninsula (Lobster Cave, Rising Sun Pavilion, Biyun Temple) at 09:00, return to the B&B at 10:40 to prepare for check-out at 11:00, and stop by Bao Ge to try fried dough rolls and dim sum for lunch, ride again at 13:00 to the 14:30 ferry back to Donggang, take a walk through Dapeng Bay and enjoy a noodle dinner in Donggang, then take the train back to Tainan, and finally arrive home at 21:30, ending this rich trip to Xiaoliuqiu, and agreeing to visit again in October.
It was very convenient to book a round-trip ticket in advance on Klook when traveling from Donggang to Xiaoliuqiu Island. You can use it regardless of the operating time within the given date. I arrived before the scheduled time, showed my passport and reservation, got my ticket, and got my sashimi and fish cake packed at the fish market right near the terminal and boarded the ferry. When departing for Xiaoliuqiu, it was a comfortable single-deck ferry. When returning, I boarded a double-deck? 1.5-deck? ferry that looked a bit old. I took motion sickness medicine in advance, but the weather was not bad, so I was able to use it comfortably without much shaking. The photos are of the inside of Donggang Terminal, the boarding area, the exterior of the ferry I rode to Xiaoliuqiu (in good condition), and the arrival at Xiaoliuqiu.
It was a very easy smooth travel with return ships and pick up tour van. The time was just right for the morning ship and coming back in the late evening. Just need to remember to organise the return connection trip at your own expense. Liuqiu is a small island. The public transport(bus) is available but not too convenient. Best way to travel this island is to ride motorcycle. 😁
Purchasing round-trip ferry tickets on KLOOK is more affordable than buying them on-site. Booking online in advance also helps secure your itinerary. However, please note that both legs of the journey must be with the same ferry company. To redeem your paper round-trip tickets, present the QR code from your purchase voucher and a valid ID at the corresponding ferry company's ticket counter. Once you arrive in Xiaoliuqiu, remember to keep your return ticket safe, as you'll need it to board the ferry back to Donggang after your trip!
I easily booked in advance and exchanged it for a physical ticket at the ticket office, completing the entire process in less than a minute. I even arrived at the ferry terminal ticket office at 3:20 PM and was able to board the 3:30 PM ferry. Highly recommended.

Although it is off-season in Xiaoliuqiu, there is no headache caused by the northeast monsoon wind. It is a perfect place for us who are extremely afraid of heat🔥 to visit. It’s very comfortable and pleasant weather for me!
