Designed by world-renowned architect Tadao Ando. Utilizing the terrain, the Buddha is cleverly hidden within the landscape, with only the head visible. After passing through the tunnel, you can see the entire majestic Buddha statue, and when viewed from below, you can see the blue sky behind the Buddha.

Reviews
Big thanks to the tour guide Ms Li who did a great job explaining the places and even share with us some useful tips in Hokkaido. Highly recommend this tour.
We joined the tour on October 18th, but unfortunately, the weather was not good that day, and it rained on and off all day. Plus, we didn't bring umbrellas, so it was a bit of a mess. It would be great if the tour company could keep some umbrellas on the tour bus for the tour members to use, which would definitely be a big plus... Also, the buffet lunch at Jozankei Hotel was very rich and completely exceeded expectations! Highly recommended! Finally, thank you to the tour guide, Sister Che, for the detailed explanations of each itinerary point on that day.
I am really sorry. Due to my own fault, I remembered the wrong meeting place. The tour guide, driver and friends in the car waited for me for 20 minutes longer, but still didn't see me. It was also because of my fault that the tour guide couldn't contact me. Later, when I realized this problem and contacted the tour guide, the tour guide Noguchi patiently and carefully helped me contact how to deal with this unexpected situation, and finally caught up with the main group. I am really grateful to the tour guide Mieko Noguchi for being so loving.
Our tour guide, Ah Ling, was very friendly and helpful. The itinerary was packed with activities. Although we've been to Hokkaido twice before, we chose this tour specifically to visit the dam and the Hill of the Buddha. The lunch buffet also had a great variety of dishes.
Introduced many attractions and aspects of Japanese culture that we hadn't experienced before, giving us a lot of information to plan our next trip. They also shared stories about the attractions we visited, making it a fantastic experience.
I am very satisfied with the itinerary. Toyohira Hot Spring, Jozankei and the National Park are all worth visiting! What I appreciate most is the professionalism of the tour guide Ms. Li. The whole explanation is very detailed and attentive. I really appreciate his dedication and hard work👍🏻👍🏻🤩
Although there were only six of us, the trip went smoothly in a nine-seater vehicle, which didn't affect the itinerary. The scenery was beautiful and the food was good. Highly recommended!
I really appreciate Ms Wu, the tour guide for the extra effort in assisting me. She’s not an english speaker so she used an app translator to relay to me important details like timings and pick-up location. I’m not a chinese nor japanese speaker but I joined this tour coz there’s no available tour on this date with english guide. Prefer to book a tour for convenience especially if you want to see places that will be hard to commute by local transport.
The JR Sapporo meeting point is easy to find and conveniently located. The itinerary is packed and fulfilling, featuring the scenic Jozankei and Hoheikyo, the Hill of Buddha, and Lilac Hills Park, as well as a diverse buffet lunch and satisfying outlet shopping – well worth participating in.
The autumn foliage wasn't at its peak during my trip on October 13th, which was a little disappointing. However, seeing lavender at Lily Garden was a pleasant surprise, and the red Kochia scoparia was an unexpected delight!
